Had two different wines a cab from Sam’s club that was 13$ and a random Malbec that I didn’t finish. I didn’t like this specific Malbec very much. Boring and kinda “sour?” I’ll finish it and add the name tonight. Avoid

Jake, I have only had 1 Malbec I liked, it was from France in the Bordeaux. Malbec is 1 of the five original grapes allowed in red Bordeaux. Many vineyards in Argentina are changing from Malbec to other wine grapes.

2020 Louis Jadot red Burgundy, Volnay, le Calleret.

Hey Spey, I’ve drank Malbec for years. It’s certainly not Uber complex or anything like that I just like it. I like Bordeaux better probably 9/10 times but there’s just something about basic Malbec and Malbec heavy blends that does something for me.

I’ve been drinking Malbec recently. I got a bottle on a whim and really liked it. It has presence without having all of that funky aftertaste or dry tannic mouthfeel. I like it. I don’t know diddly squat about wine though.

I used to by all kinds of ZINFANDEL...BUT THAT was when I had money...

The brand with the narly root on the front label was very good...

I may start watching for sales and get a bottle of that again...

When I visited California twice in the 90's I tasted some delicious zinfandel all over the state and a few in Washington state also...

Dave Harvey Upriver series 2021 Mourvedre Grenache Syrah. Obviously a blend and I’m not sure if this is something a wine snob looks down their nose at, but dang it is tasty and pairs well with this LGC Serie R.

Some of the best wines in the world are meritage which are blends of two to several different grape verities each bringing it's own unique profile.

Jake, I too have a naked wine subscription. I’d love to drink it with you. Until then, I’ll drink one “to” you.
I should get your info and follow you on there if you rate your wine. The wine I’ve gotten so far is much tastier than the stuff I usually bring home from the shpo. My shpo doesn’t protect me though.

We trifle. Wife and I love wine and have a small collection. The oldest going back 30 years or so and primarily Cabs, Zin and Shiraz.
We have planned dozens of our vacations around visiting US wineries and AVA's from California to Finger Lakes over the last 33 years. We will be going on an 8 day Viking cruise later this summer to the Bourdeaux region.

Prolly our oldest Shiraz is only a few years. We drink a lot of Aussie wines from McLaren Vale and Barrosa Valley. We buy it, we drink it. Drinking Mollydooker Blue Eyed Boy 2019 now.

Man, I was going to say that sounds cool but it sounds wonderful. Your 33 year commitment is laudable as well. (Spell check almost had me with laughable but I caught it just in time. 🥴)

2019 Donelan Tripp's Block Pinot Noir, Bennett valley winery, Mendicino vineyard. In a blind tasting I would swear this is a high-quality Volnay from Les Caillerets vineyard. So far, the one of best finds on the vacation.

Monsanto Chianti 2015 Italy
Robert mondavi maestro napa valley good but wouldn’t pay 40$ again 2017
Montebuena rioja 2020 Italy
Meiomi Pinot noir 2021 California

The maestro was a blend and the best of the night. Just not close to a 40$ blend. Big hangover Sunday morning. Fairly confident we opened more but I don’t honestly remember. Crashed out at my buddies house. Been awhile since we had one of those nights
