Goes to Israel and gets the crap beat out of him at a protest. His family, whom appear to be very media savy, are delivering well honed message about the evil Israeli government and it oppression over the Palestinians. They go further to explain this clean cut boy would never throw rocks, Molotov cocktails or anything else. "He has never been bullied or been a bully. He didn't go to Israel to get gang banged like that." - said to wolf blitzer.

Does any if this scream bull**** to you? If you traveled to Israel at age 16 from a very pro Palestinian and anti Israel family why else would you be at a protest in which you get arrested? Maybe he didn't deserve the boot stomp but quit with the innocent American boy routine. He is anti Israel, participated in a protest that turned violent and things didn't go well for him. Not unpredictable at all.

And our press just eats it up. This isn't even a pro or anti Israel position. The dude participated in Russian roulette and lost.

Not unlike the family of the guy that shot n killed an officer here. They said he was a good guy and the cop should've never got out of his car.

Could be. Not familiar with that. But this seems contrived. I'm not cynical enough to think they wanted this kid to get hurt but it seems too convienient.

And the family I've seen are effin smooth and on message.

Other than the whole beating thing things couldn't have worked better for them. They sent their poor American kid to Israel. He did nothing wrong and he was beaten just like all the other other palistinions who are getting beaten or killed for doing nothing wrong.

Sure the kids egg got cracked but it made a great omelette. An American beaten abroad by the oppressive Israeli regime.

What's the over/under on how long until video footage of him throwing stuff or participating in some way comes out?

So a nice young lad heads overseas, protests and gets his ass beat. Then his parents show up on camera with Wolf Biltzer? Sounds like he should have eaten his Wheaties before he shipped out.

If it wasn't on CNN I'd say by 7/8/2014 at 6 PM Eastern Time. In this case it's more like when Geraldo went in search of Al Capone's treasures and found an empty rooom.

He'll get rewarded. Maybe they will replace the sling shot he was carrying (don't know if that report is accurate) with an AK

He's lucky he wasn't crushed by a bulldozer or thrown in a prison for 10 years without any charges ever being filed.

I generally don't think it is a good idea to go visit an apartheid state and then protest.

That boy would likely have been killed by the cops here, if he pulled the crap he pulled over there, here.
