Anyone else watch this last night?

I loved the quote attributed to Teddy. Went something like: “I do not say that all Democrats are horse thieves, but I do say that all horse thieves are Democrats.”

Very interesting documentary about two people that had significant impact on American in the 20th century. I found it interesting that both sides of the family (Teddy's-Republican & FDR's-Democrat) got along pretty well and supported each other's political endeavors.

I did not but wish I had known it was on as I'd like to have watched it. Yes back then politics was a bit more
" reasonable and honest " they were NOT so caught up in simply following to the T...party lines.

I give up.

I'm now convinced you're just TW trolling all of us.

They did say something about him being brought in to clean up the mess left by the former guy firing all of his political opponents . . .

My favorite quote was the fact his mother was raised on a plantation in Atlanta, and she was unreconstructed until the day she died . . .

Victor, I'm not as unreasonable as you'd like to paint me. But I'm glad to hear your " giving up "

Giving up what though? Thinking you know someone just from a few posts on the inter webs?

Regardless of what you think, I do not march to a particular political drum but am a free thinker....just because what I believe does not align with your perception does not make me wrong or wrong headed.

I've watched you accuse diehard conservatives here of being "libtards" just because they disagreed with you on minor points. While you may not consider your personal views to be of a "particular political drum", you won't hesitate a second to try to paint anyone who disagrees with you with a broad political brush.

Whatever you think your personal views are, your methods of arguing them are " caught up in following to a T.. Party lines".

This is why I have to assume that you aren't a real person.no one has such a poorly tuned sense of irony as to have been able to make your post with a straight face. I'm assuming that you're just tw or frank or gryphon screwing with people.

Which diehard conservatives would that be? And btw....I am entitled to MY personal views regardless of which F'n party they seem to fall into. Okay so my forte is not arguing with people, I'd prefer to get along...and DO with Most. I just don't seem to have that need with you....strange. And you have one of THE sickest most twisted sense of humors I think I've EVER come across, I find it disgusting to be Frank.

Meh. My sense of humor isn't intended to appeal to you. I find your hypocrisy to generally be disgusting to Frank as well (don't know why we're dragging him into this...)

I' could be misremembering, but I seem to recall you calling Tail a liberal. That was hilarious. You pigeonhole people into "liberal" or "conservative" simply with whether they agree with you, as if you're a litmus test for conservative. If you've noticed, I've NEVER told you your personal views have to hold to a specific party. I honestly don't care what party a person's views align with, I only care if their views are correct or not.

Correct as in "supportable". As in there is reasoning and rationale behind it.

You can hold a personal view that gravity accelerates mass at 5m/s2... you would be wrong because there is nothing to support it.

My mistake TMCTLT. That was not you. I believe in accuracy, and something in the back of my head was whispering that I misremembered. You have not (to the best of my knowledge) accused tail of being a liberal. That was someone else (it took me a while and some searches, but I found the quote I was thinking of. It was not you who made it.)

Victor, as long as there IS sound proof / science behind a particular belief or principal...who am I to question it?

But when someone pees down my leg and tells me it's raining....not so much.

Did you notice that many of the New York political families mentioned in the film are still in positions of power and money? Dodd, etc. gaming the system for personal gain.

I really like Ken Burns' films. I'd really like them a lot better if they were half as long. I don't know jack about editing, but I'd like to take a crack at some of his work.
