I personally think that the Republicans are going to be shocked at the outcome of today's Senate races. I've seen too many Democratic yard signs in rich neighborhoods here in Louisville, KY which can't make Mitch feel overly confident. These are areas that usually vote Strong Republican. I think that whoever wins today will just be more of the same BS.

You have many years of past experience to back that up. Two party system is broken.

Neither the dems or reps give a damn about "the people". Just "the money" being contributed to the campaign fund.

I read the other day that our representatives are full time fundraisers and part time legislators.

Clearly, I was dead wrong about how last night was going to play out. I voted for the Libertarian in the KY Senate race yesterday. I was not a fan of either Grimes or Mitch. Mitch has had 30 years in the Senate and Kentucky during his tenure has ranked in the bottom of the States in just about every Matrix. So I didn't buy into the hype that he was going to become the leader of the Senate and it would mean wine and caviar for Kentucky. Mitch also ran on the platform that he was against everything Obama which is basically a platform of nothing. He didn't put forth any new ideas that could get the economy going or solve any of the other problems that our State and Country face. Grimes was just more of the same failed Obama ideas.

Welcome to more constipated governance in the country. Obama is going to become the Vetoer in Chief for the rest of his term. It really is sad. fog

the mojority of the countries voice was heard last night.

the president's policies were on the ballot. he said so. it's about time the people woke up, although, buckwheat has a point with vetoer in chief, but it's a good solid start.

if things are handled correctly, look for a conservative president in 2 years.............

As long as the Repubs don't pull the steering wheel too far to the right over the next two years.

If they make that mistake, we'll all be looking down the barrel of a new President Clinton.

Only God could help us then.

On the up-side I look forward to absolutely no whining from the wing nuts for the next two years.

Appropriate topics for whining now consist of:
The president vetoed the bill I want.

That is it. They've got the House and the Senate... all the whining for the past 6 years should cease.

What? Nonsense. I expect the only whining from the Politics forum for the next 2 years to be from the occasional liberal Cbid poster, with the exception of any Obama vetoes.

It'll be nice to have some peace and quiet. :)

I think that we can generally agree that it would be a bad thing to have anyone named Clinton or Bush in the Whitehouse again.

The democrats are already consoling themselves with data analysis which they believe proves Clinton will win 2016 based on this abysmal showing.

I think they're missing some important factors in their assessments of the numbers, but hey, who am I to burst their bubble.

Blackfoot... Don't be silly. Of course liberals whine. But they don't really whine much on here (a very conservative skewed board)... I'm talking about the microcosm that is cbid, which has been whining nonstop for the past 6 years.

Huh?

Cbid members being racists has nothing to do with their incessant whining. I think they'd probably whine of they weren't racist too....

Some like you call it whining, while others call it making their voices heard. And the People voiced a clear message.

I suspect it's the same as two years ago when the republicans were convinced all the polls showed they were going to get a huge win.

Both parties exert a conscious and unconscious delusion. It's good business to do it. That's how they raise money. If you think one party is any worse than the other in this matter then you're deluding yourself.
