I am still looking for that cigar that I can reach for every time I'm not sure what I want at that moment I open the humidor lid. You know...not that cigar I love that requires or demands my full attention because it's just that damn good. Not that "yard gar" that is just taking up space until I get around to burning it. I guess I'm looking for that "everyday" cigar that satisfies my taste buds every time and burns well. I smoke 2-3 cigars per day when time allows and I enjoy the diversity that my small collection allows, but I'm still looking for that "standby" cigar.

If there's a question in there, I guess it would be mostly directed to vets of this hobby. Have you found this cigar(s) yourselves? Or, perhaps the search is never ending, which is OK too...it's very enjoyable.

My "go to" cigar has by the Torano Loyal for a few months now. I've never had a problem with them (ie. burn, feel, tast). It's not overly complex and a very robust smoke. Modestly priced also.

The Montecristo No.4 CC was my go-to cigar for years. Relatively inexpensive and easy to come by and still pretty good.

I understand what your asking.....but...this is gonna sound like a dumb answer, but.....it depends.....and It changes periodically.

It depends on time of day
It depends on how much time I think I have
It depends on how many are left in the humi

Always solid, don't demand a lot of attention...not too expensive:
EPC NWC Brilliantes - mornings, mildish
HUHC - mornings, 30 min
EPC Short Run 2013 - hits a home run every time
VR Famoso - I can always pull one of these and it will satisfy without demanding a lot of attention
La Duena PL - afternoons, early evening - drive home from work
Fausto FT-166 - after dinner

Don't really have one. So many variables like dsteiger said. Though,
I have burned through a lot of BaitFish and Genesis. I don't usually blindly grab a cigar, usually have at least a profile in mind. If not a flavor/strength profile, at least a vitola in mind.

But then again, I'm still trying tons of new smokes, there haven't been that many I've had more than singles.

My list of easy on the wallet, consistently good everyday cigars:

Morning: Camacho Connecticut and EP Carillo New Wave
anytime: La Riqueza, EP Carillo Elencos, Perdomo Lot 23, Fuente 858 nat and mad
night time: Camacho Corojos, JdN Antano 1970 and JdN Dark Corojo,

Great short smokes that're budget friendly: Tatuaje Reserva Petit Cazadores and J Fuego Origen Original

That being said, I'm always checking out new stuff with an eye towards adding to this budget friendly everyday roster

I thank everyone for the suggestions and I will be sure to try some of them on my next spending spree. Gotta wait for the bank account to recover.
