Paul this is old technology.

This was reported 10+ years ago, now they are showing the OLD tech to let people know.

I can see the usefulness of this technology, but I believe before it is used they should have a warrant, like any other 'search'.

Tasers have technology that can report when they were turned on, when they were fired, how long the "ride" was, etc...

You could do the same with these to hold officers accountable.

What usefulness?? Does LE agencies not already use heat signature to know if someone is in a home? Sorry this IS over stepping in a big way IMO

Dude, your own article says they support the technology... with a WARRANT. I agree with them. Yes, LE agencies use FLIR, just like the military. Very useful.

FLIR - foward looking infra-red.

If this equipment saves even just one cop's life when they have a to serve a warrant, I'm cool with them having access to the technology for that purpose.

I'm starting to see Tasers with cameras. Not on ours, but some nearby agencies.

Nope. But, they are used in some places to locate marijuana grows, along with electricity usage.
