There are precious few cigar shops in New England.
But I would be doing a disservice if I didn't warn people about the worst shop I've ever been in.
There is a shop in Norton MA, and it has a small area in the back to smoke.
On my first visit, I witnessed the owner spraying water directly onto the cigars (and boxes and walls, etc). To be fair, I've smoked two different cigars and both were OK. But that's a recipe for disaster.
I stayed away for a couple years, but went yesterday with a friend. We wanted to smoke indoors.
Bought two overpriced Ovals, but was glad to do so. I saw two empty Archie Bunker chairs in the back room. The owner was bagging my purchase, so I told him to just snip it. He said there was "no room" in the back.
Two empty chairs?
One for me (the owner) and one for the guy next door (we're in a strip mall).
??
What?
OK I'll stand.
Nope.

So I take the purchase and ask for matches.
Nope.
REALLY?
Then he says:
"Tell me when you find a cigar shop that has matches".

Honest.

So if anyone is in that area of Mass, let me know and we'll find someplace else to enjoy a smoke. Because this azzclown deserves to go out of business.

Haha what a grease ball, guy has two paying customers in but won't give up his seat in back for a hour or so?

I knew a place like that every day the place was open the guy pissed somebody off. Under new ownership now.

small strip mall on the main drag? couple streets down is a right turn for Norton Country Club golf course?

Seen it, never stopped...never will now Joe. Thanks

BTW (hikack alert), dinner and beers at Flynn's in Mansfield with good friends last weekend. First time, not the last, thanks for the tip. Everyone was really happy and full.

Saw a young woman trying to eat the burger that is surrounded by two grilled cheese sandwiches! Almost finished half.

Never will understand how some people don't get that customers are the ones putting food on their table (and in this guy's case, cigars in his mouth in the back room where he won't allow customers to sit)...

Sometimes, retailers are their own worst enemy. I have one cigar store in my area where the owner keeps all the cigars locked up in his humi. If you want a cigar he comes over with a pad and pen and then asks you which cigars you want. He picks them out, writes them down on his pad and then brings them to the register and you pay. Only after you pay can you touch a cigar. Another shop in the same area, puts Acid cigars in with other cigars in the same humi.

Had lunch at Flynn's on Friday.
Good beer led to the "urge" for the aforementioned cigar.

Only 46 taps at the Mansfield location. Still looking to make my way to the one in Plymouth. Over 80 taps.

And never mind trying to eat that burger. Gotta love a woman who simply orders it!

That's funny. Because most people say that total darkness is my most agreeable moment.

Is that like 'over-stuffed' chairs.....as opposed to under-inflated ones?
