From what I understand it went from a cigar that was blended to pair with pappy to using some as the same filler as the kfc. Guess we'll find out when I get my box in. People having been emailing and getting refunded for their purchase.

^^I can get Bolivar Corona Gigantes for less than $12 a stick. Delivered.

I would NEVER dream of paying anything more for a vastly inferior cigar.

Hell, I can get a RASCC for less than $5 a stick and that little beauty would wheelrite (dwarf) and POS smoke you could get in the USA... at ANY size.

Or, the mothership will have Cubans on their other site, and the good Nicaraguans and others will be seriously affordable here. Hoping anyway. No more QB-only San Lotano Ovals at $42.50 a fiver and such...

I was exaggerating, of course. There are some pretty darn good smokes not made in Cuba. I'm not a fan of any DE stuff, though.

I sometimes wonder if Cuba would be open to mixing their tobacco with others not grown on their island. But then why would they be willing to help their competitors?

👆 could make some interesting cigars if they would be open to mixing, wrappers, fillers etc

They could do that now if they wanted to. There's nothing preventing them from buying tobacco from the DR, Honduras, Nicaragua, Ecuador, etc... And they could market these blends anywhere but here, just like their puros are marketed now. But they aren't.

Why **** up a good thing?

I wonder if people are confusing them with LP flying feral pigs. They are still overpriced at $30.00 for a LP flying feral pig, but an undercrown at $30, wow.

I think, in my beer buzzed state, this is what I was trying to convey. A lot of the NC offerings are priced like that, VSG, Opus X come to mind, and while they're very good... they're not on par with the CC offerings for much less (IMO).

I can recall smoking candelas and liking them when my journey began... so I suppose it's a bit hypocritical of me to bash NC's the way I do. But c'mon, man... the prices on some of these things make ya go Think .

The same could be said about Cohiba pricing and a number of the LE and REs. Comparing regular production CC to special production NC on grounds of cost isn't a fair comparison, a more accurate comparison would be Regional or LE to some of these NCs.

I believe if you go back to the pre-embargo days you will find that many CC's were made with Connecticut wrappers (the real US CT kind).

Agreed. I have no Cohibas in the humidor right now for that very reason. Can't justify the premium they command... so many cigars out there that are just as good or better for less, IMO.
