Gay marriage is now the law of the land.

If you need a tissue to wipe away your tears, I hear confederate flags are cheap now.

Personally I think marriage should be completely removed from the government that has no place in there Instead place marriage squarely in the church who can decide who they want to marry or not That has not changed no matter how much someone here might want to pervert what the ruling means Instead of saying that the gays and only have civil unions in the eyes of the government and the nine days have marriage have everybody have civil unions in the eyes of the government if you're really going to still supply benefits tax benefits or anything like that based on what are now called civil unions

If it's all about God and get it completely out of the government and let it sit in the churches meanwhile the government has the more sterile term to work with for everyone However the nine days didn't really want a solution they just wanted to treat the gays differently

I wonder how this whole "marriage equality" thing is going to work... if they get divorced, does the one who plays the male role have to give up half of his stuff?

GOD? I'm pretty sure she's too busy trying to get guns out of the hands of those that would kill her worshipers or school children to be worried over whether people that love each other can get married.

It's much more straightforward than straight divorces. Comes down to a **** measurement.... the one with the shortest **** gets the other's stuff... in proportion to their **** size relative to the sum of the former-couple's **** size.

Yup and we can always count on you and Victoria to be in that same clown car together. Actually I agree whole heartedly that the Federal Gov. has NO Business in the marriage business OR making these sweeping National changes without putting it ON The Ballot for We The People to decide. I mean after all every pole taken, it supposedly comes back to say that the overwhelming majority of Americans approve, Then let US vote on it.....

Why? I just need to read your posts.... youre flailing around like a toddler, screaming nonsense about constitutions and god and generally acting like a 5 year old who didn't get their way.

You're practically the definition of butthurt and it's hilarious.

I have to agree with Victor on all this. Church and state should be separated, as laws should not be established to appease a specific group of people.

I would even take it one step further than gays.

I would say that two bachelors who want to be best friends forever should be able to get a civil union where they can sit there blowing ass on each other munching cheetos, drinking beer and banging hookers on a nightly basis if that's how they choose to live their life.

So in other words... as my opinion on most topics, I don't really care :)

I'm always going to be in favor of free speech, and right to bare arms to protect free speech. The only thing I really care about is any thing that encroaches on those two things.

I could give two chits about gays having the right to dump money into divorce lawyers pockets just like everyone else.

The world hates us cause gays can get married? I think that's just the Muslims. It's something they have in common with the extreme extreme right.

I don't think it's that isolated... these laws got passed because a very small group, in the scheme of things, bitched loud enough... take a poll where ever you go and most folks wouldn't approve... but the majority doesn't matter anymore... Mellow

the majority's desire is largely irrelevant in regards to people's rights. Otherwise the majority will stomp all over every minority every time. the supreme court is in place for just these sorts of issues.

It all started when they where allowed to redefine the definition of Marriage. But the real fact is it all has to do with money and benefits. All of which could have been accomplished if their Civil Union was recognized by the IRS and insurance companies - similar in the way a common-law marriage without the actual legal ceremony is recognized.

Gay rights trumped traditional marriage rights - all for the money.

I met Admiral Stockdale's granddaughter a few months ago & I told her how much I admired him. She teared-up & thanked me, then she recalled how he was relentlessly mocked when his hearing aid fell out. Words still hurt her, 25 years after the fact.

Call them all (hetero or homo) civil unions in the eyes of the government. Keep marriage in the church. Some will allow homo some will not.

The anti gay crowd got just as greedy as the gay crowd but it's always harder to argue for suppression of rights than for them.

Folks like huckabee compare this to dread Scott but miss the fact that that case suppressed rights and the ticking of time had it doomed from the start. This is the opposite.

It must be hard being on the wrong side of history so often.

I'm pretty sure you said that traditional marriage rights got trumped... that means they're lessened in some way, right?

I mean... if my traditional marriage rights are gone then I shouldn't be able to get married. I'll let the fiance know.

Can I have her call you if she has any questions about this?

Stockdale was not treated fairly. He was a great American. Then again once you enter politics you can't expect fairness. There are ambitious corpses on both sides that have found that ou the hard way.

Don’t mention it. I like to think of Cbid as a support group to all of the BOTL that suffer from apathy and procrastination. I used to struggle with my apathy, but now I just don’t care anymore. But during those years I was also plagued by indifference, lack of concern and constipation. I just didn’t give a sh1t.

About the procrastination – I’ll get back to you on that.

You love twisting things just to stir the pot.

The rights of people that believe in traditional marriage where lessened when the LGBT community was able to convince the guberment to redefine the definition of marriage. They where told it doesn't matter what your belief is, you have to accept this now, and make them cake. Instead the guberment should have recognized the Civil Union in the same way it does with common-law marriage. As I said before, in the end it all has to do with the money and benefits. I personally don't care who a person wants to be with or openly express in public. Have a relationship with your neighbor's dog - If it makes you happy I don't care. But IMHO redefining marriage to recognize a gay union is like Rachel Dolezal saying she identifies as black.
