At least 3 black churches burned in arson fires since SC shootings.

Souldn't this be a larger issue than the Confederate battle flag?

If there were some way to segregate the crazies, I think we would have less racial tension.

I think there is more angst today than in the 50s.

Church burners are cowards trying their hand at intimidation. PUNKS!!!

Or, if you follow TW's logic, the parishioners burned it themselves just to stir da pot.... Mellow

We haven't gotten electricity yet. But I hear they are thinking by 2017 the wealthy might have it.

And somebody even said there is thing called air conditioning. It's supposed to cool the air or something. Sounds kinda shady to me though.

Well, the latest one was ruled not to be arson.

Church burning is pure evil.

The oldest Masonic lodge in my County was torched last year. The local Sherrif here is a long time family friend & he was a member of that lodge. He was enraged & heartbroken, too. Unfortunately the crime has gone unsolved.

Many Nepalese said the earthquake that struck was due to the gods being upset over the mistreatment of Mt Everest.

Hope they catch the arsonist(s) responsible.

Thank the news media for encouraging loser idiots like the Charleston shooter.

There are a lot of small churches, with all sorts of congregations in rural and remote locations in South Carolina. They are a prime target for tweaker zombies to steel A/C units and copper wire. They also have a lot of creative wiring and occasionally the real estate is worth much less than the insurance, I'm just saying.

That said, arsonists, especially anyone that would burn down a church, qualifies as a worthless piece of human looking excrement.

I didn't compare myself to anyone, so quit trying to twist things just to stir the pot… again. I simply stated a fact.

After all the racial crap that's been flooding the media, going back to hands-up (which turned out to be a lie), to black lives matter, the BS with the flag, etc., etc. I do find it ironic that a church once burned down by the KKK in the 60's and then rebuilt, has been struck down by lightning today (act of God).

Besides, there shouldn't be any racial distinction when it comes to a church - no black church or white church. Just simply a house of God.

I repeat, hope they catch the arsonist(s) responsible.

And who said there wasn't a bunch of impoverished, superstitious, poorly educated people here? Obama got elected… twice!

You made two statements (It would be a stretch to call them facts)
1 - "And the Lord struck with a lightning bolt from the heavens. Karma is a bitch."
This statement very clearly states that you believe in karma (since you don't even question it's existence, but make a statement that it exists and is "a bitch"). Additionally, it makes the suggestion that you believe a biblical god started the fire using a lightning bolt, as you parallel this statement with your assertion that karma is real and responsible for said fire.

2 - "Many Nepalese said the earthquake that struck was due to the gods being upset over the mistreatment of Mt Everest."
Here you parallel your belief (above) that karma is real and caused this fire, and your suggestion that this is in some way a god's doing (by quoting biblical passages implicating a god in doing the same thing) with the similar superstitious beliefs of the nepalese. In other words, you're saying "hey, if these uneducated superstitious people over here believe it, that justifies my statement!".... Despite living in the 1st world, and having (theoretically) a 1st world education, you aren't exhibiting any personal expectations greater than that of a 3rd world goat herder.

Never said they where my beliefs, just a few common statements to think about. Could have been Zeus who threw the lightning bolt. It's all how you want to look at things, or keep narrow view.
My belief is there shouldn't be any racial distinction when it comes to a church [period].

Not your beliefs? Really? You just earlier said you were stating "facts". That means you believe your statements to be true... that karma exists, that karma is vengeful, that a biblical god punishes people with lightning, and that some nepalese think vengeful gods punish people with earthquakes.

And you expect us to put all these "facts" that you believe together, and which you chose to state within the course of two posts, and come to some conclusion other than the obvious?

The Fact was in reference to how many in Nepal felt. It has nothing to do with my personal beliefs, or what I said my personal beliefs to be.

Many people believe many different things. Don't be so ignorant and narrow minded. Get over it. If you can't understand sarcasm, then that's on you.
horse

It's no different than the media trying to turn this into a racial thing. 2 fires where of natural causes, 2 are yet undetermined, and 2 are arson. Could be insurance fraud for all we know.

Sarcasm, eh?
"Karma's a bitch" does not sound like sarcasm. Even if you put a sarcasm smiley at the end it wouldn't sound like sarcasm.

in fact, you just sound like you're just desperately trying to back-pedal from your whole "the lord struck them down with lightning because they deserved some karmic retribution" stance.

It's much different than the media's focus on black churches (notice you're trying to change the subject). None of the media talking heads have said "karma's a bitch".

Count is now up to seven. Authorities have confirmed at least one and possibly a second was a result of lighting strikes.

Sounds like the Tawana Brawley rape allegations all over again. Does anyone know where Al "Not so Sharp" Sharpton was at the time of these fires? My money is on him. He sure knows how to fan the flames.

What does this have to do with that?

The press is counting the number of predominantly black churches burning. Some appear to be arson, some are not. No one has accused anyone of the ones which are arson at this time. Yet you decide that it must be that people involved with the church are going to light their own church on fire to blame... someone else?

Don't think it's unfair to raise that suspicion. What a better time for it. Nor would it be a surprise. Even the talking heads whose opinions you think so highly of have suggested insurance fraud.
Folks burned and looted stores in their own community in Ferguson, and tried to blame it on paid protesters and others.
Believe one undetermined cause of fire is being investigated as a possible arson caused by vandalism. The other may be due to an electrical problem.

And FYI, Karma is Buddhist and has nothing to do with traditional Christianity. You missed the sarcasm in using it with a Christian-themed phrase I made up. But the irony can't be ignored.

Karma suggests they did something to cause it or possibly deserve it, combine that with whatever god you think made a lightning bolt come out of the sky as well as the thought that they may have set it themselves and I think it says as much or more about you than it does them. It is CBID logic though LOL

ahh cbid... never change.

The news reports a series of unrelated (even the news says unrelated) fires in predominantly black churches in the south and the brain-trust's immediate conclusions consist of:

Caused by lightning because they deserved it.
Burned by the priest or parishioner in order to blame someone else (I'm guessing whitey here?)
Not burned at all, but said it was burned in order to blame someone else (This is the best I can come up with for what the duke Lacrosse reference could be...)

Seriously... it's like this is a different world, where rational conclusions (like hey... they're unrelated fires, so there'd be 6 unrelated causes... ranging from accident to arson to natural causes) don't exist.

Yea, because no one would ever do something, just so that they could blame the other side. Well except Tawana Brawley and Al Sharpton, and oh yea, this guy Rick Jones. No one else would ever do anything like that. Well except for the Black Congressmen who walked through all of the protestors and then said they were spit on, even thou they had a camera filming it, and so did a bunch of other people, and no where in any of that filming could it be found, that they were spit on. But no one else would ever make up some false claim. Right???? Oh wait, there was that made up stuff by CNN, MSNBC and all the other liberal race baiting news outlets that said Mike Brown had his hands in the air and said don't shoot as he was gunned down 3,179 times in the back. Yea, that is about all of the people that would make up something to move an agenda along.

Your logic is that because there are some incidents in which this occurs, that it must be the most likely possibility? You realize that a few high-profile examples does not actually have a statistical impact, right?

The News has reported and suggested from the beginning that somehow these fires are racially motivated because of what happened in Charleston. My outrage comes simply from labeling them as 'black churches', and playing the race card… again.

I offered a few sarcastic statements for conversation. Not once did I say they where my beliefs. In fact I did say explicitly they weren't my beliefs. I also said that I found one lightning strike to be ironic, and hope they find the arsonist(s).
