'Trump said Fiorina's face would make her unelectable. The magazine quoted Trump as saying of the former technology executive: "Look at that face! Would anyone vote for that? Can you imagine that, the face of our next president?"'

What an idiot.

In my vast experience with women, I've always found that the thing they love the most is being judged on their looks by old, overweight unattractive men.

Did he miss the part where women are also voters?

Anyone remember the anti Reagan ad where a little black boy asks who Reagan is and the response is he's not even a politician, he's an actor... To which the child responds "wasn't it an actor who killed Lincoln?"

American politics sure has come a long way...

This kinda reminds me how the fattest, ugliest, dorkiest rich dudes all have smoking hot wives. Which just goes to show you that women ... are whores.

Pat Brown in the 1966 California governers race... I didn't get it quite right, but in fairness it did happen 15 years before I was born... The gist of it was a comparison between Reagan and Boothe on the basis that they were both actors... And he made the statement to school children... He lost the election...

I was gonna ask if it might have been during Cal Gov election, cuz at least at that time he was coming from being an actor.

I almost wish Trump was more UN-PC in his responses.

I think the media is getting to him. He's getting softer.

The pre campaign Trump would have said, I was speaking of her past failures and yes, she's unattractive.

He's a product of fortunate birth, and probably not so much desiring the Oval Office as he is of cashing in on this unreal marketing opportunity. He is pulling all of the strings in a group of embarrassingly moronic republican candidates, none of whom can talk about anything unless he wants to...imagine how other world leaders would react to any of them if they can't handle a reality TV star.

Stuff like (roughly) "I'll get us so many victories, you'll get sick of victories" may appeal to the guts of those sick of 16 years of softer talk, but is idiotically meaningless and pandering to cowboy wannabes.

Eight long years to prepare an answer in the form of a candidate we can rally behind, 8 looooong years and the GOP spent every single second of it whining and scheming to try to deny Obama anything he backed...even if he had a cure for cancer they would have turned it down in lock step. Shame on the whole party for wasting nearly a decade not only for failing to cultivate a leader to admire, but in blocking everything in their power..especially if it might be good for fear of America liking an idea from the Dems! Horrors, they come up with something beneficial? Can't have that.

Party over Country is a disgustingly anti-American concept.

And most embarrassing: they can't even take credit for Trump, he crashed the Party and is making it look worse than it is, and it is weak.

I'll ignore the expected knee jerk replies of cbid groupthink (thanks for that term Adam) ranting about the Dems and Obummer, cuz that is not the subject at hand. How about some breakout thoughts about this topic, not the same old boring negatives about the other guys. How about an analysis of your own team?

Don't be scared, it's actually healthy.

wasn't challenging anyone to knock the current administration, nor to think I am propping it up. Quite the opposite, looking for someone, anyone here to post a State of the Union address about the GOP and a squandered decade spent crying.

wasn't the question. the answers should be about the GOP, probably shouldn't even have to mention Obama. Not a Obama thread.

That's just the problem, Frank. No one has anything. Just about all any party has now is to point out the flaws of the other, and I'm not talking solely about all of the mensa trustees here. The parties as whole have become nothing but deflection and blame. Accomplishments are far and few between, no one has anything to offer but dirt and broken promises. Meanwhile, this country goes down the toilet and they are left clinging to the rim, no mater how many times you flush. I guess it had to happen sometime.

I get that!

And I'm getting convinced that if Trump can just step into this party and take control of their discourse (which avoids any discussion of a vision but sure is noisy...and fun!) then they are to be avoided.

They are loaded with litmus tests but they can't even decide who embodies their official stances, how many are running? 20 something?...they've had an embarrassing decade trying to get the Teabaggers, the Super-Righteous Christians both real and charlatans, the super wealthy who destroyed jobs for Americans by hiring illegals (and then igniting class wars so we wouldn't see them behind the curtain), the fading Libertarian crowd, factions dedicated to denying rights to those they dislike or disagree with, and even more fringe elements, all under one tent. Who the f--k are the republicans? Who comes to mind as the face of what they stand for? Am I to believe it's Trump? Really? Exactly how long has he embraced republican dogma, beyond worshiping money/power? He donates to the Dems for crying out loud. He has no platform beyond boasting and denigrating.

I mean, I love the guy, but not for anything beyond entertainment.

I sure don't feel welcome there, under that weird tent. But I might also be a little pizzed off that they are still scrambling to win an election that was virtually handed to them. My God, they are pathetic! I don't trust them to take over their own party yet, never mind the country .

They aren't ready. 8 years later they aren't ready. That is not leadership.

My vote is still for sale, but right now it goes to "other".

Someone step up with passion and sell me on the positives. I don't need a history lesson of Dem hatred, what is the great future with these lunatics?

No argument from me, your observation about the GOP is correct. Every time they get in power they appear to step on their ******, but I see it as a collusion with the democrats, they do the same thing to their believers. I have no love whatever for either party and especially none for those in the parliament of whores, Congress.

OK, so at least we know they have long enough deeks that they can be stepped on! Clearly they are more manly, and I mean that as a joke and comment on their marketing.

Interesting comment about collusion with the Democrats, Gene. I postulated recently that Trump was actually a secret double agent for the Dems...there may truly be truth in jest.

No attack, believe what you want, but a lot of folks here talk about not liking either party, but savage the Liberals exclusively. Just a wee bit disingenuous in the name of being "open minded".

As much as there has been to complain about Obama (I know people think I am but I am not a devotee), I have not been compelled yet to abandon course and change to a helter skelter direction navigated by the GOP. No matter who gets credit, business is booming, housing is booming, people willing to work can if they try, stocks are scary but even with big dips are way ahead of several years ago, the world is scary but ya got to admit there's far less war involving us currently...all while the GOP tried to make Dems unelectable as their solitary contribution to a better world. But open eyes can see improvements in the American Condition, unbelievable as it may be!

They may have assured 4 or 8 more years of whatever we have now. So far, I am less scared of that road as I head into retirement in a few short years. And my kids futures all look better than when President Cheney left office.

GOP, you have to beat that, and I am willing to listen, but stop with the Trump noise already. He doesn't really want all that responsibility, he's just using you. He won't use me.

I think you can be a hater or lover of either party and still argue about politics. Many of the lefty attacks are insulting too, but issues like abortion, religion, voting, candidate citizenship, school records, the war of women/Christmas etc. are just issues to whip up the base and keep them busy. Meanwhile, criminals lobbyists write laws and the members of the parliament of whores pass them.

The best you can do is plant yourself and your assets where they are impacted the least by the government. The politicians want you scared to death and the media profits from keeping you scared. Fortunately we are living inside of a juggernaut called the USA, unfortunately, we are not allowed anywhere near the steering wheel.

On the bright side, we are being invaded by Mexicans, Central Americans and South Americans, as opposed to Europe whos is currently being invaded by islamic hordes.

My understanding is Obama wants to bring 75,000 IIRC here. Have read where they're finding Pakistani ID's and or passports at some of these border crossings that have been discarded, so we / they will NOT really know just who's using this tragedy as a disguise to leave their chitholes.
