Just found out that the store by my house finally has Goslings Ginger Beer in stock, so I can now make my favorite drink a lot easier. The drink is:

The Dark And Stormy
3 1/3 oz Ginger Beer,
Couple dashes of bitters,
2 oz Dark Rum (I prefer Kraken)

Rum 1st, Then Bitters, Then top off with the Ginger Beer. Garnish with lime if youre into garnish.

What mixed drinks do you guys like?

Bone dry Shapphire martini, up with a twist. (I have an English teacher friend who says she wants to diagram my drink order sentences.)

Usually a bourbon or Scotch guy, but once in a while, get a craving for dirty martini, love the olive brine with the gin, and put about 3 or 4 of those big queen olives in, usually mix it and chill in the fridge for a bit

That is my other "Fancy drink" A bone dry (just show the vermouth bottle to the glass) dirty martini with Hendricks Small Batch preferably.

for my tastes, olives do not go well with Hendrcks due to the cucumber essence...but a slice of cucumber works in a Hendricks martini.

While I am typically a vodka rocks garnished with lime or bourbon or scotch on the rocks guy, and those technically aren't cocktails, my cocktail preference would be a vodka martini (or Kangaroo for you purists). I did try something I enjoyed recently, though. Didn't catch the name but it was cucumber, cilantro and jalapeño muddled, then add him and a dash of simple syrup, shake and serve. Very interesting favors.

That sounds good might have to try that one. Been on a bloody mary kick lately and there is this vodka my bro in law gets which I forget the name of the maker but its called Ghost Vodka and it goes excellent with just about any bloody mary mix but I like the Ubon bloody mary bbq mix.

My big thing is I've wanted to try a proper Mint Julep for a decade now and have yet to find a place that makes one in my area.

The Kraken Cherry Coke
(for weenies, like me, who don't care for the taste of alcohol, but like to get drunk)

12 oz tumbler filled halfway with ice
2 oz The Kraken Dark Spiced Rum
2 oz "Three Olives" Cherry Vodka
Top off with Coca Cola

Tastes just like a Cherry Coke fountain soda !
(Like I said . . . for weenies like me.)

While I agree with Sdeve72 and Fiddlers choices those aren't cocktails.

Gin and tonic (sapphire)
Old fashioned (usually rye, but bourbon works too)
Polynesian painkiller:
4 oz unsweetened pineapple juice
1 oz orange juice
1 oz Coco Real (or Coco Lopez) coconut cream
3 oz Lost Spirits Polynesian Inspired (or navy) Rum

A good ole 7 & 7 has been my new fave.

In the summertime, when it's nice and warm, I love to make alcoholic frozen fruit smoothies.

The original Planter's Punch. Not the bastardized version.

½ oz fresh lime juice
½ oz passion fruit juice
1 oz unsweetened pineapple juice
1 oz Duquesne Élevé Sous Bois Rhum Agricole
¼ oz. Appleton Estate VX Jamaica Rum
¼ oz Christian Brothers Brandy
Dash Angostura Bitters
6 drops Herbsaint (or Pernod)
4 oz crushed ice

Put everything into a blender, ice goes in last.
Blend on high for 5 seconds.
Pour into a pilsner glass.

I don't drink...

But when I get thirsty.
Woodford Double Oaked when I've been dry for awhile.
George Dickel when I'm out of Woodford. (Usually in a Hillbilly Old Fashioned)
Stouts ands Porters when I'm out of Dickle.

Then I eat 2 packs of ramen noodles, half box of Oreos and go to bed.

What he said, except I like to add water by the drop or splash instead of a cube.
And in no particular order...
Mint Julep, the best hot weather bourbon cocktail.
Bourbon and Cheerwine with bitters
Gin and tonic with fever tree tonic
Vodka and soda with lemon and lime
Fernet Branca and coke

The only mixed drink I ever order is a Gimlet. Not sure what the correct proportions are, I usually just eyeball it when I make them at home. Two ways to make it:

Gin & Rose's Lime Juice
Gin, fresh lime juice, simple syrup

Throw it in a rocks glass with a bit of ice and a wedge of lime. My preferred gin is Vikre Boreal Juniper, damned good stuff. And no, vodka Gimlets aren't a thing.

If you're the margarita type and appriciate things of a smoky nature, one of my favorites is the Mezcal Paloma, I usually do a heavily smoked mezcal and then you just mix with grapefruit juice and sprite or a grapefruit soda.

Another good one is muddled cilantro, tequila/mezcal, sweet and sour, topped with chile (tajin) or rimmed with chile salt.

I had an interesting "tequila old fashioned" yesterday at an argentine grill that featured Tequila and Xocolatle Mole Bitters. It was a little on the sweet side but I think if they would use a good mezcal, it could be a real contender.

I had to look up what the hell cheerwine is. Sounds like it would ruin any bourbon you put it in and then to add bitters? Yikes.

Bourbon, scotch and whisky. Sometimes a cube to accompany if the mood strikes me.
