ok story behind the parodi seal:
Did you ever notice the seal on the Parodi cigar box? Their unique logo has a funny story behind it: in the 1920s, when the Suraci brothers were incorporating their cigar company, they were told they needed a company seal, an official emblem or logo, in order to incorporate. Being Italian immigrants, they misunderstood what the official meant, and therefore used an actual seal, the adorable marine animal, as the "seal" of the Parodi Cigar Company! The seal remains on the box today, providing a "seal of approval" for Parodi Cigars!

didn't really know all the details but have considered the seal to be a "seal of approval" since I smoked my first one in my teens, like around 1970. Per usual, the truth is stranger than fiction, thanks Joe.

But combined with that assumed word play, I also took for granted that the very name, Parodi, was further word play on "parody" and referenced the seal.

While I appreciate the fact, its really odd that you would only smoke parodis when theres a wide world out there.

I don't normally call someone a shill or a plant, but if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck.

Never had one, add another to the list/quest.

Thanks.thanks.alot.

And if I read the OP right, $75 for a fiver of MUWAT KFC? Seems a bit high to me, plus the few I've smoked didn't stand out to make me spend that much and I live in Kalifornia where retail and taxes hurts.

Fair enough, I grew up with my uncle smoking parodi's out back of his restaurant in Jersey City. Tried em as an adult and didn't care for them myself, but I never did much like anise, tastes like black licorice which I cant stand.

Love KFC, Leccia Whites, and other Fire cured's through.

$75 for a 5ver of KFC's is insane though considering they average most places for around $20-$25 a 5ver depending on size.

Check out the Spectre by AJ Fernandez as well. Doesn't have traditional fire Cured cigar Tobacco, but it has some Latakia pipe tobacco in it.

Leccia Black is not as "in your face" with the fire cured aspect as the MUWAT. Nice balance.
