Picked up a 5ver a couple weeks ago so I decided to torch one up today.
5x50 very dark Maduro (very tough wrapper good for winter air)
Straight cut paired with lots of H20
Razor sharp burn with lots of smoke. Starts out medium with flavor of dark chocolate. This cigar need to be smoked slow or it will over heat. It builds up to full strength by the mid point. Flavors don't change just continue as nice dark chocolate. The cigar got nubbed after an hour. This was a solid cigar. I would give it a 3.5 out of 5.
Going to try the LaAurora untamed extreme next. They look very similar

Nice review. LaAurora is my favorite brand. I' m a slow smoker so the overheat is not an issue with me. Never had a bad one. The Ruby's are my daily go to.

I won a 5er of them a little ways back of the robusto as well. Smoked a couple of them and while I thought it was decent I did have to touch it up a few too many times, think I have 1 or 2 hiding somewhere might be time to give it another go.

Thanks for the tip, chazbo. Usually have a few L.A. 's, the 1495 and the 107, on hand. I'll give these a try...

Interesting.

A "solid cigar" in your book that "got nubbed" only scored a 70 (3.5 out of 5).

Just sayin' :)

Sounds about right. those candy*** reviewers out there hand out a 90 for anything these days.

I take 3.5 out of 5 reviews of every cigar scored as bull ****. IMHO, they score a lot of them as to the company's relationship to the reviewer.
