Trump is calling it war and advocates for immediate action and taking the fight to isis

Clinton said she wants to continue talks with other countries to come up with a solution

This was just on cnn this morning

Gingrich piped in and wants to query muslims in the US and if they believe in shariya law, then their azz is toast

Obama has delivered more rhetoric in the same vein as the past few years but seems to be changing to a more hawkish stance

It ends when the last fanatic is killed.......action talks, BS walks..........I would like to see a more military minded POTUS in office.......and oh yeah, the heck with being politically correct, I'd rather be alive and living in our wonderful country.ram27bat

I don't see how this could have been prevented. How can a person hate so much? It is a sad, sad day. My heart goes out to the French people. This is the third major attack there in the last 18 months.

What a sick freak. I hope Bruce Jenner is considered a virgin after the operation and this f4ck has to wait for Bruce as the first virgin. Prayers for the people of Nice.

I used to really like newt up to those comments of his. Absolutely unacceptable and wreckless. I understand the frustration and dilemma but I thought he was more intelligent and thoughtful than that. Given his political posturing before the attacks yesterday (I'm a pirate, trump is a pirate etc) I can't help but think it's cold political calculation using the tragedy for personal reasons. I liked that part of newt when he was pickin on dems and making their heads explode but this one is too far on something too seizes. Shame on newt.

If this is somehow misquoted I'll change my tune, but if it's accurate and newt tries a trumpian gymnastic move no one intelligent would buy eff him. He was pandering to hannity.

"Every person here who is of a Muslim background" should be tested to determine whether he or she believes in Shariah, a legal code based on the Quran and other Islamic scriptures.

If they do, he said, they should be deported — even if they're U.S. citizens. Gingrich added that anyone who simply visits any website "favoring ISIS or al Qaeda or other terrorist groups" should be guilty of a felony, "and they should go to jail."

The Council on American-Islamic Relations condemned Gingrich's call to "test" Muslims in the U.S. as well as the truck attack.

"When former House Speaker Newt Gingrich suggests that American Muslims be subjected to an Inquisition-style religious test and then expelled from their homes and nation, he plays into the hands of terror recruiters and betrays the American values he purports to uphold," CAIR National Executive Director Nihad Awad said.

Somehow I guess we need to disclose our religion to the government so they know if they need to question us or not.

I do agree with screening Muslim immigrants tho... mainly because ISIL had control of the Syrian passport offices for a while.. I'm not saying ban them but we should be careful.... Mellow

Drafter I can get to agreement with you on that with a tweak. I'm for screening ALL immigrants regardless of religion which is not on anyone's passports. And I have no problem more heavily scrutinizing immigrants from certain parts of the world. The fault is when you throw in the Muslim piece. It's impractical operationally, not necessary and just fuels the fire. But it does have political pop with some which is what's important in the homeland.

The Irish can do pretty good damage when they are pissed off too. I'm all for much better screening of immigrants and focusing on problem areas particularly (not Ireland at the moment arguably partially thanks to slick willie). Religion is not the factoring element though and not included on passports or official documents and if it was it's easily lied about and not prove able unless you start stalking churches.

It's a political peice not anything practical.

I'll still take Trumps " sometimes " over Hilldogs....NEVER lol

He has only stated that UNTIL we have a better way of vetting who is coming into our country from regions showing radicalism under that religion / belief system we cannot allow them to freely flow in and out of OUR country.
And IMHO....he's correct. Until those governments can provide us with backgrounds on their people wishing to leave and come here.....they should not be allowed. It should worry the hell out of everyone that our president is trying to " speed up the process " for them to come here....without ANYTHING changing on the vetting process.

I agree it makes sense to run deeper background checks based on region of the world. I also agree that background checks based on religion is just plain wrong, as would be background checks based on race. They certainly should be unconstitutional.

This has to stop, We need a waiting period and background check on people renting or buying trucks. Restrict the size and speed of trucks. If that doesn't work, ban trucks.

Revenge. Revenge for what he perceived the enemy did and will do.

This has been going on for a long time and the vicious cycle is naturally accelerating.

Former US president Jimmy Carter told the New York Times in a 1989 interview:

“We sent Marines into Lebanon and you only have to go to Lebanon, to Syria or to Jordan to witness first-hand the intense hatred among many people for the United States because we bombed and shelled and unmercifully killed totally innocent villagers – women and children and farmers and housewives – in those villages around Beirut. … As a result of that … we became kind of a Satan in the minds of those who are deeply resentful. That is what precipitated the taking of our hostages and that is what has precipitated some of the terrorist attacks.”

And this goes on today.

So terrorists attack France three times and it's due to the foreign policy of the United States?

Lol you might as well blame global warming as the reason for terrorism like the rest of the smucks who reach for straws instead of calling it out for what it is. Islamic terrorism. Terrorism against infidels that their twisted Koran tells them to carry out. The worthless book existed long before the United States so carry on with your twisted ideals that it's all our fault. That sir is the load of horse sh-it.

well obama said they just need jobs and loretta lynch said they just need hugs

so maybe if open up hug versions of kissing booths and employ moslems we can kill two birds with one stone

crap, but that wont address global warming...

The US has the most expensive military in the world - and we are the police of the world. Everybody love the cops, right?

But, no - it has to be their book.

I think the point of the article I was quoting is that we are by design not seeing the cause and effect of policing the world.

Not so much a belief, but food for thought. A reason to question and examine.

More from the article:

"This idea - that the rise of anti-American terrorism owes nothing to American policies – in effect postulates an America that is always the aggrieved innocent in a treacherous world, a benign United States government peacefully going about its business but being “provoked” into taking extreme measures to defend its people, its freedom and its democracy. There consequently is no good reason to modify US foreign policy, and many people who might otherwise know better are scared into supporting the empire’s wars out of the belief that there’s no choice but to crush without mercy – or even without evidence – this irrational international force out there that hates the United States with an abiding passion."

Granted this seems grim, but the premise is not without merit.
