They showed them side by side on CNN for certain segments of the speach about an hour after the speach.. They were virtually identical. To bad some writer made a mistake, it was a good speach.

I'll accept that it was similar (I also didn't listen and could care less to) but I'm in no hurry to gather plagiarism evidence. Is the first lady that important?

Moochelle has said some goofy things, and I would **** her sideways.......Trumps broad is hot too.

It certainly wasn't memorable. I very much enjoyed Rudy Giuliani, sheriff David Clark, and Marcus Luttrell.

for what it's worth for anyone who does not want to know, it was virtually word for word of an 8th grade level rah rah speech...kind of a stupid move since she claims she wrote it

Wouldn't it be great if the democrats and the media were half as concerned about Hillary's handling of classified information as they care about Melania's speech.

they are. it's not even worth another second of discussion.

but have no fear, I have a theory about The Speech...

Unless Trump and his ENTIRE posse are so far below "educable" on the standard IQ scale...which I highly doubt...then the only plausible reason I can fathom for them allowing this indisputable word for word theft of Michelle's meaningless speech was to create a divergence from what everyone should be concerned about...the fact that this party at this convention is so broken and so ill prepared to offer solutions to the future of America that it opened with a mutiny! And even the mutiny failed, and not because of a coherent base. Nope, it was because of screaming lunatics.

Impressive.

That alone should be telling all willing voters what they would be supporting: a party in disarray, fractured, leaderless, and what makes that even more alarming is they had EIGHT FRIGGING YEARS to get someone ready to be elected after so much dissatisfaction with the current administration. Do they need a few more years? Pathetic is the word that comes to mind, agreed? The GOP is more pathetic than the hated in-power party. Oh, wait, they control Congress too.

Don't look at us without our clothes on, watch the pretty airhead mess up...you have fallen for the old shiny object trick!

Where is your outrage at the failure of your own people? Instead you attack the other party and the media? Your house is falling, don't worry about the house across the street.

Even I was looking to vote for anyone at all not named Hillary, and I'm a libtard (with a gun!) I still might, but it won't be Trump.

Barack Obama, 2008. Hillary Clinton 2008 campaign spokesman Howard Wolfson said President Barack Obama had "lifted rhetoric" from Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick.
"If your whole candidacy is about words, then they should be your own words," then-Sen. Clinton said about Obama at the time. "That's what I think."
Obama admitted that he used some of Deval's words at a Jefferson-Jackson dinner in Wisconsin.
"Deval and I do trade ideas all the time, and you know he's occasionally used lines of mine," Obama said.
"I would add I've noticed on occasion Sen. Clinton has used words of mine as well," Obama added. "As I said before, I really don't think this is too big of a deal."
CNN's Eugene Scott contributed to this report.

Joe Biden, 1987: During the 1988 Presidential election, the then-presidential candidate was accused of mimicking a speech that British Labour Party Neil Kinnock delivered just four months prior.
Kinnock's speech included the following lines:
Why am I the first Kinnock in a thousand generations to be able to get to university? [Pointing to his wife in the audience:] Why is Glenys the first woman in her family in a thousand generations to be able to get to university? Was it because all our predecessors were thick?
While Biden said:
I started thinking as I was coming over here, why is it that Joe Biden is the first in his family ever to go to a university? [Pointing to his wife in the audience:] Why is it that my wife who is sitting out there in the audience is the first in her family to ever go to college? Is it because our fathers and mothers were not bright? Is it because I'm the first Biden in a thousand generations to get a college and a graduate degree that I was smarter than the rest?
The vice president was forced to withdraw from the presidential race after Maureen Dowd of the New York Times exposed his plagiarized speech. Allegations followed that Biden lifted parts of other speeches from Hubert Humphrey, Robert Kennedy, and JFK.

^^ you are CORRECT.

I met the speech writer for TRUMP's Family and the celebrities at the CIRCLE GRILLE in AVALON, NJ
Last Friday night .
He was sitting at the bar right next to us...
He said I looked like "Richard Dryfus" (spl?)
And I said he looked like one of the three brothers on the Bob Newhart show...He said "which one?"
I said Daryl...( being a smart azz)

He said what he did( speech writer for TRUMP) and that he was flying to
Cleve-burg the next day...Saturday before the convention.
He was a cool guy ,sarcastic and Very smart.
One that would do what you said on purpose to
Get media attention...he's no dummy.

As I left he was ordering wine for his friends...
I told him a short synopsis of my GANGSTALKING
PERSECUTION by the FBI-SSG DIVISION and gave him my TWO VISTA PRINT CARDS about GANGSTALKING that I hand out to the agents
( who laugh at me and put them in their pockets,
I guess I know how to spot them?...anyone else would create a scene..which has never happened)
I told him what KMLWPJA MEANT ( KIDS MY LILLY
WHITE PROTESTANT JEWISH AZZ)
and he laughed like h3LL...
"CALL 1-800-KMLWPJA" is on both cards...

My parting words to Him were:
" tell TRUMP Not to kill Mr. Jones" if he wins...
He said "O.K."

Wouldn't it be great if the republicans were half as concerned about putting forth proposals and ideas than being concerned about Hillary's _______ (fill in the blank.)

I haven't watched any of the convention, but I did hear portions of a half dozen different speeches (most live, a couple excerpted.) I can't fathom how something like Christie's stroking the base about Guilty Hillary accomplishes anything positive beyond those already fanatic about the evil that is HRC.

I am a registered Republican that agrees with nearly everything that Frank wrote above. My party has pizzed away 8 years and the unbridled negativity with nothing remotely resembling a responsible and/or realistic vision has me more than a little dazed.

I do feel bad for Ryan. He speaks well, but the pain is evident "We got nothing. But that's better than more Hillary Obama."

Meh, it could just as easily have been a malicious act by a speechwriter. No matter how professional the handlers and staff, people that should have vetted the speech, they are human.

To your point, there is a long history of dirty tricks by both parties and pointing this out does make the complainers look petty, but that is a huge risk for very little positive result, OTOH, if you already dislike Trump, it might sound plausible, but OTOOH, it would make him look even more clever than he will tell you he is, do you really want that? I kinda think that if Trump ran as a Democrat he'd be their nominee right now... People wanted someone to stir things up and maybe actually change some stuff instead of just promising it... numbers are out there, he set voter turnout records.. he just happen to be on the Republican ticket... Maybe he shoulda ran Independent.. the 3rd party might've had a chance this time around... Mellow
