Basically, too many east coast people complained at the unfairness of starting the quickie auctions at midnight eastern, when most of those folks are asleep, and those of us on the left coast are still wide awake. This gave us an unfair advantage for certain auctions that have "bubble" price points.
Cbid starting changing their quickie program many months ago, slowly phasing in the system we have now.
I believe, back in the day, all quickies started at midnight eastern.
Now they start much later, with many lots continuing to be introduced throughout the day, some even late in the day eastern time, meaning they are on the board for less than 6 hours.
