2017 Prices - what's up?

Haven't bought any smokes for a few months and am surprised to see my favorite value smokes (5 Vegas) are up in price quite a bit from where I was able to snag them 6 months ago and beyond. Anyone else notice prices seem to have gone up from same time last year? Usually I'll notice a slight run up in auction prices in spring/summer as outdoor smokers go back to smoking. This year, it seems a little early. I would say in general, I'm seeing prices up $8 - $15 a box from what I paid this time last year. Bad timing?

Also prices do seem to go up as weather gets warmer. If I were you I'd go buy cigars somewhere else. If we can't increase supply, lets kill demand!!1

Wow, tough crowd. Ask a legitimate question and all the rapier-like wit is on display. My kind of place! I'll have to make sure to come back here in another 6 years. Sorry I haven't been posting as frequently as some of you, I'm a busy man. I've been in prison and internet access has been spotty at best. When I do get access, I'm either corresponding with my attorney or working on getting some more prostitutes from Russia lined up for my next business venture once I'm out of the joint. Give me a few months - I can hook you up. Oh, I RTFWP and that's why I'm asking the folks here at MENSA. It was no help.

OK, now that makes sense. No one is buying at an auction so prices are naturally up. Got it.Wink

Life in the slam just ain't what it used to be I guess. This place is pretty FUBAR since the "improvements" to the site took place.

Life in the slam isn't bad. The balloon boys keep me in crank and I get gars rationed to me on a fairly consistent basis. I know nothing of improvements or how this place was. The bidding process looked a little wonkey to me though. In one instance a lot I was watching was won B-4 the close date. What's up with that? How do you win an auction B-4 the close date and still have it show up in your watched lots?

It was prolly a Quick Buy auction. You can buy the item for a set price before it closes.

They did an "upgrade?" to the site on Feb 10th and ever since its been FUBAR.

The FOG's are holding off buying until things return to normal.

A quick buy auction will close if someone bids the full quick buy amount
I'm pretty sure if you add an auction to your watch list it will stay there until you remove it

Now see, that wasn't so hard. I learned a lot today - thank you everyone. Site's been updated, FBI MUDDER-*****ers *****ed the place up, you can get free cigars if ya blow a guy named Schill Bidding, global warming is real and it's caused by aliens, and my prison buds got nothin on youse guys. Piss on the Quick Buy. If you can buy it, it's not an auction. By the way, my post total should now be 5 for those of you who are counting. 5 posts in 6 years. Another way of looking at it is I've posted 4x today what I posted in the first 6 years of being a CB member. So *****in there.

The abuse will continue until such time that you are deemed worthy.
It will then become even more personal and humiliating.
Just our sick way of having fun around here.

Prices are up. Activity is up.
Here, and at the other place.
Spring and Summer approaching......... causes an annual spike in action and prices.

And, we might be seeing some early stock piling of certain boutique blends that may not be around in a year or so when the regs kick in.

seems ever since the upgrade was done, prices have gone up quite a bit. Many of the lots are bid on by the same bidder ???

So inside job, eh? CB bidding up their own auctions to put more $ in their wallet. Brilliant! Swisher Sweets it is for a while unless I can get the balloon boys to try and get some sticks in the joint. Its not easy I hear - good chance of breaking them on the way in and on the way out. Be careful how you sit.

Give us the details of your many crimes, so that we Mensa folk can judge you further. Then we will make
recommendations. And don't bother with the old, "I swear I am innocent, wrongly convicted, I was framed, etc"
We botls see right thru that.

A number of years ago, I was wrongfully convicted of practicing medicine w/o a license. I was a physician specializing in breast reduction techniques. 99.9% of the time, after a thorough comprehensive exam, I was able to assuage a woman's concerns and get her to see what a mistake it would be to mutilate her perfectly good, wonderfully large breasts. The times I couldn't, I would issue a referral. There was one patient's case that proved most difficult and lead to my undoing. You've probably heard of former tennis star Simona Halep by now. She was tired of lugging those huge breasts all over the court and came to me for a reduction. I tried to get her to see that doing so would be a huge mistake, but I approached it from the wrong angle. Instead of focusing on how her desirability would be affected by cutting down on her obvious assets, I should have determined that instead, her gsme would go to chite. It did, she sued for malpractice, I technically had no practice and the rest as they say, is history. Google before and after shots though and tell me I didn't warn her.

So, in other words you got "busted" for mishandling her assets?
Messed up world we live in.
If you had amputated her legs she would have had no standing to sue.

Sorry, I just spit Courvoisier all over my Ralph Lauren pajamas when I read this. I didn't say I smoked them - I'm a cigar snob just like you. I use them as sex toys when the boys from the next cell block over come by. Wouldn't want to waste a good Ashton on a night of mud slinging if you catch my drift. Love

Who is this magwitch of which you speak? Is there another on this forum who needs to reinforce the crotch of all his pants with leather? If so, I must meet him someday and commiserate about the burden of lugging around a big schlong all day. Does he perchance have a brother, Maglite?
