These just arrived, they seem authentic but the tips of the torpedos aren't as uniform as I imagined. Your opinion would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks--- chris

Cw,

Seeing that that shape is the most difficult to roll, I'd say that the tips can't 100% uniform. Uniform color, length, and ring size may be a better tip.

Look pretty damn nice, but I am no expert either! I have smoked quite a few ISOM's that were brought to me by ex wife, Flight Attendent, from trips to Europe!

Oh, if you don't want them, send them to me!!!!!!!!!

Maybe the best way to be sure, is to send one to everybody, and get their inputs that way. Just a suggestion.

they are real. i'll bet they are a little young and need some down time like mine. (see my crappy pictures we'll always have paris) i used the macro setting incorrectly.

two minds have the same thought at about the same time? why don't we get together and rule the universe?

Fakes, all of them. The bands should be blue. You've been duped. Ship them all to me and I'll send you a box of wolves. Make that two boxes of wolves. I'll even get a celebrity to sign the box. LOL

All kidding aside, enjoy them. We'll expect a daily update.
BTW, did anyone see the picture of the Bucanero standing on it's end supported by the ash? Can a Monte do that? I'll post it.

Yep ... they look real to me!

The color looks perfect (they must have that 'reddish' tone and be shiny) and the tips will always be slightly different from each other ... they look just like a couple sent to me by one of our Canadian brothers (Canjuneh) whom I've known for years and grown to respect for his knowledge in Cuban cigars.

The taste will be the true deciding factor. If it makes your lips and tounge tingle and it has that unmistakeable flavor, you've got the real deal. Smoke one now just for the fun of it, and then let the rest age awhile in your humidor. Like Rick said ... most 'authentic' Cuban cigars are being shipped young because the demand is so high for them.

They look real enough and you will enjoy the hell out of them if they are real! I have smoked a few in my years and the shapes are never uniform, so have fun and if you want me to test 5 or 6 of them, don't hesitate to send them my way! He he he

They look like fakes to me. Reason being, unless you took this out before taking a pic, There is to much space between the cigars the rings should be ALL looking in the same direction. and if you look at the side of the rings, they aren't the same design of course that could be the quality of the pic. posted.

they seem real to me...very similar to the box given to me by a friend who came from overseas. Mine has a tad lighter shade, but it could also be the picture quality. Mine were also not all "perfectly tipped and shaped", but had all the labels, seals, and stamps. The true test will be the flavor and quality of the smoke....very distinctive....enjoy!

wildbill - the cigars are not all lined up in the pic, the bands however do ALL line up when the cigars are lined up.

The site that Slimboli recomended is one of the best sites for Real or not Cubans. Another thing to check out would be the stamp on the bottom is it burned in or is it a ink stamp, is the Cuban seal the right color, unless you got a old box.
The only thing that really made me think that they were fake was the sides of the cigar ring, they didn't look the same in the pic. I hope you find that they are real.

slim & bill - I went through the nexus before I posted and everything was fine, but the one thing that the site didn't cover was the unifornity of torps. They check out as far as box code and all the other checks, just got a little worried about the tips of the torps.

Thanks for the great insight!!!

They're real, and REALLY INCREDIBLE!! The taste was in some ways similar to a PAN, but for the most part it was unlike anything I've ever tried. The crazy thing is they're still a little green, I can't wait to to taste them when they have 6 months to a year of aging!!

Like several others have said, the only true way to know is to smoke one or two
BTW, it might just be the picture, but the "Fleur" on the band....It looks kind of thick in the middle...When they are really thick and the lettering aren't even with other letters, then they're probably fake, however, I tried to take a pic of a Monte #4 (real) and the picture's resolution was poor and the middle of the fleur looked thick in my pic, so it's probably the camera...Scan a pic of the band if you have time...I'd like to see how it looks...It's just one indicator (but not as accurate as the taste test)
They look very tasty though!!...YUMMY!

I got a fake one I should post next to a real one. Those look beautiful. Like Slim says, the tast will be the determining factor. The complexity of the #2 is subtle but ever changing. Like a full course meal.
Enjoy!

I forgot to mention the rest of my experience with my first Monte #2. While sitting on my roof deck with the Monte and a nice glass of Woodford Reserve bourbon I decided to stand up and look around. When I looked northwest of my apartment I noticed a guy and girl on a neighboring balcony and the guy had a camera. All of the sudden the girl unzipped her jacket to reveal two nice perky breasts and her man began snapping pictures. Needless to say I was not only enjoying the best cigar I've ever had with a great glass of bourbon, but I also saw a beautiful blonde posing. Unfortunately my camera was downstairs, sorry I couldn't share the moment... Also I would have felt a little perverted snapping pictures, I guess I do have a conscience...
