He is cracking me up though. You know the guy that thinks he's the smartest guy in the room but really is probably the opposite.

I sat in a Montana brewpub a couple years back telling the dude next to me all about brewing beer and what I look for in a quality brewpub. We drank beer together for about an hour and I gave him all kinds of tips on brewing before someone came up to him to ask him a question. I asked if he worked there, and yes.... he was the head brew master. I was so embarrassed, but we laughed, he gave me a ton of beer and we still exchange food recipes occasionally via email.


It's easy to be a dekeish know it all, but more rewarding to laugh at yourself and make friends.

You're right I forgot how incredibly wealthy with time you can be when on Obamas free cell phone plan as well as endless amounts of unemployment and social security income- it's amazing! Too bad us self employed will never see a dime of it- although I have enjoyed paying $thousands a month for your medicare plan as well. I won't be able to much longer- almost going bankrupt paying for all of that assistance fir you to have this time of yours- I'm sure these Padrons don't help me either- I should start that new standard you guys have been talking about. firstly, I have 7 children and their 3 different mothers have a hard time making ends meet, so ya, white priv-lidge folk like yourself get to pitch in a little extra to me and mine... second offly, you should try dutch masters... and D) i don't have an obama phone... I have 3... and I bet all of them get better reception than the crap phone you pay $200 a month for... thanks for your medicare contribution...

I really should have chosen a different life. With so much time and "assistance" from the white folks it's a pretty good deal! No problem on the medicare part, Obama gave me no choice if I wanted to live in a better area. I should have stayed in the po folks town I came from- those drugs can do a lot to pad my income for moments I can't afford $175 a box!

But, well... um... I'm retired military, so I got a pension. I have a full time job that pays really well and has health insurance. My wife works, we have no kids at home... and well, aside from a mortgage payment and my new boat... I got no bills.

My mom's dead 3 years now, and my house doesn't even have a basement.

That's 3 strikes, batter... you'ze be out, sucka!

Haha- thats the only thing I have problems with - showing up on time. I was demoted immediately out of college to self employment...No pension or benefits for me other than more time...for changing diapers and kid watching that is- at least teh wifey thinks thats what I should be doing with my time.

As said earlier you're not the first to have issues.

Perhaps a little back story would be helpful.

To begin with, these forums aren't really what they seem to you. There are around 50 or so people who post here. Most of those people have traveled many miles to meet and smoked cigars with many others here. In fact last month I flew from New Orleans to San Diego to meet up with three fellow BOTL's that post here. In fact, two of those people I flew out to fish with have busted your balls on this thread.

A few months back, higher ups at CI (which includes CBid) decided to roll out a software update that went horribly bad. Left to deal with irate customers are two very sweet ladies, D'Marie & Shana. I have spoken with them many times and are friends on Facebook. In my opinion, the company left them severely short handed to deal with the aftermath.

In the five years before the ill fated software update, there were a few people who raised concerns here without contacting CS. Those ladies are also the site moderators so they saw their complaints and usually responded very quickly.

As far as the cigars that are smoked by us paupers, most of us don't buy from here anymore because they no longer or never offered the cigars that many of us smoke. My "yard gars" are Fuente Anejo's & Hemingways. I also tend to smoke cigars which aren't sold in this vicinity.

I'd suggest that you walk out the door, and re-enter a bit more humbly than before. If you do, you may make some lifelong friends with some very knowledgeable people. I know I have.

I was self employed (straight commish) for 20 years. It's not for everyone. Every time I wrote a deal I was unemployed again...until the next deal. Tremendous pressure.

I went that route mostly because I had/have a problem with authority figures, dating back to grammar school. When told I had to do something, my initial reaction would be to figure out a way to not. Makes things difficult, to say the least. Guess I was always a misfit.

Poke around the forums and threads, you may decide you aren't that different from the rest of the d-bags that hang out here.

Oh, I went with a H Up (2008) corona that was gifted to me for absolutely no reason by another one of the d-bags that regularly posts here. The Padron Churchill was just too much to deal with tonight.
