HOWDY,

I KNOW THIS IS NOT E-bay or anything so if anybody gets pissed i am sorry and will try to have this pulled from the boards.

I have the game metal gear solid 2 for x-box and do not want it and would be willing to trade for other x-box games, cigars, or cash.

The only reason I post this is that i have noticed that there are a lot more younger guys on this board than i thought and a few may have the intrest in the game.

I AM LOOKING FOR UNREAL CHAMPIONSHIP, TIME SPLITERS 2, or any other shooter.

CAO's, Ashtons, OPUS, Cohiba

Game cube is better if you like kids games that have appeared on every other nintendo platform. Kind of sick of Mario myself.

Gamecube is for classic games...there are many games that are not "kids' games". Playstation is ok, but way overpriced. Thing is, many people buy it as a DVD player as well. Well, your Playstation breaks...you can't watch DVDs... Likewise, your DVD player breaks...you can't play games.

Plus, if it acts anything like Playstation one did...it's a piece of crap :)

With games as great as Super Mario sunshine, Mario Party 4, and Luigi's Mansion I'll pass.

A system is only as good as its games. Game Cube simply doesn't have as many titles that appeal to me as Playstation 2. PS2 has way more variety and great adult games (no not x rated games). For me personally its much better. That is what seems overpriced to me.

But hey, different people have different tastes and if you like gamecube then by all means play it and enjoy. Personally my favorite series is the Final Fantasy series and neither gamecube nor x-box has anything as good.

Plus I had a playstation and sold it after I got my PS2 (never had a problem with it though). My PS2 plays both 1 and 2 platform games. I could be wrong but i don't think Game Cube plays nintendo 64 games. You have to buy BOTH platforms to play both kinds of games

I agree...Game Cube is good if you have kiddies...The games are fairly boring IMHO...ON PS2, at least I can play adult orientated games like Grand Theft Auto 3, GTA Vice City, Hitman, and (one that is available on a few platforms) Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2
Vice City is just incredible, probably the best current game available on any platform
I've played X-Box and it's good, but I trust Sony since more software developers develop games for the PS2 than any other system, even defunct Sega now creates games for the PS2 now

Metriod Prime. All I have to say.

You can have your GTA...same generic game over and over.

Rookie,

Sega specializes solely in producing games now. They retired from the platform business long ago. They produce games for practically every platform, and continue to make Arcade games.

Name the system and I've had it, have it or want it.

I love all kinds of games, but I prefer first person shooters. PS2 is the system right now IMO. The PS3 should be even better. As long as Sony keeps making everything backwards compatible with their games then I'll still be a fan. Nintendo always as and I guess always will gouge you with the price of their games. X-Box will disappear like Dreamcast.

Give me Metal Gear Solid, Medal of Honor - Frontline,Vice City(with the cheat codes...hehehehe!),Navy Seals any day. Sports games are great when you have somebody to play against. It's not the same playing against the system.

Ok guys I am a computer nerd from hell let me set some of ya'll straight

1. Game runs a ATI chipset video card (second best at pipeline speeds which is what counts for a good frame rate) the games are marketed at a younger audience but they sell like hot cakes (BUY THIS SYSTEM FOR THE UPBEAT GOOD TIME GAMES)

2. PS2 runs a no name video chipset (dead last at the graphic line) The game library is hella the best hands down. Most sales in North America and Europe in games and consoles. While the dvd is made of the cheapest parts it doesn’t require a remote like the X-box (BUY THIS SYSTM IF YOU WANT TO PLAY THE BEST GAME TITLES)

3. X-BOX (is the most advanced system up till 8 months ago it had better graphics than computer video cards (AKA GEEFORCE 3 which is what the x-box is running) The X-BOX is a computer made to play video games P3 733Mhz processor 10 Gig hard drive and a NIC built in (BUY THIS IF YOU WANT THE BEST LOOKING GAMES) ALSO MICROSOFT CAN LET X-BOX loose all the money they want cause the 125 BILLION a year they make in just there OS department will off sent the loss buy far. One last thing Microsoft is in this for the long haul they told there shareholders that they will not be slated to make a profit in x-box till 2006 give big brother (MICROSOFT) enough time he will take over anything he wants HAHAHAHAHAHA

YES I OWN ALL THREE

Dan, sorry you personalized my post.

Like you I own all 3 too. With that being said, what good is it to have the greatest "box" if you don't have anything to play on it? Now, the new Tom Clancy game is on my wishlist.

I was making my judgement call based on title availability. Walk down any aisle that carries video games and you'll have at least one whole row of PS2 games at least 1/2 a row of Gamecube games and this teeny-tiny section for XBox. MSFT can dump ALL the money they want into this project but it's a losing proposition if they don't support the platform. Remember the Jaguar system? Same thing.

Sorry for threadjacking, but this is a passion of mine and obviously yours too. I think it's a great idea too, smokes for games. Novel idea.

Keep the system hot, and the fingers nimble.

By 2006 they won't even be making the X-box because it will be obsolete.

Besides it doesn't matter how fast/powerful a platform is if the games made for it don't use its entire capacity.

Nintendo used to "clean up" there games. I.e. no crosses or religious symbols in the background, limmited blood and gore, etc. Do they still do that?

No, they stopped doing that with Super Nintendo for the most part. The game that exploited this act was the original Mortal Kombat. However, Mortal Kombat II had all the blood and gore one could ask for. I think their reasons for changing was because their main competitor at the time (Sega Genesis) didn't fear the whining mommies. Since then, they haven't changed.

I bought the XBOX last year as a present for my 14 y/o daughter. There weren't a lot of games available but I picked up about half a dozen titles. The best of the lot IMHO was HALO. My daughter liked the fighting/kung fu game and Munch's Odyssey.

Also bought Shrek, football, and fusion frenzy that neither of us liked. I just got Splinter Cell about two weeks ago and so far I'm not that impressed. It's not living up to the hype or the rating that it got by a lot of game magazines. Also picked up the new mortal combat for my daughter. She seems to be enjoying it. I'm going to give splinter cell a couple more hours of play time but I'll probably end up taking back to the store and trading it in on something else.

I've found that I NEVER listen to reviews in magazines. Find a website where actual players review it and you'll get a lot more useful info.

I agree that Resident Evil 0 looks pretty neet. I'll have to find someone with a game cube to try it out.

NBA Street. Great game for most systems. It's the And 1 crew. If you don't know who the And 1 crew is, you have to see some of their videos. They do insane things with the basketball. They tour all over the nation playing pick up games and friendly's in parks and high schools against other players. Somtimes professionals join in (like KG and Sprewell). Basically, the moves they make look nearly impossible, and make the defense look silly.

If any of you are interested, email your snailer to me. I have the first 5 volumes downloaded in mpeg format, so you can watch them using Windows Media on your computer.

Available game titles is the primary consideration for which gaming console you buy.

PS2 is the only gaming console worth owning at this point.

X-box eats tossed cookies. Visit here for the best critique of X-box thus far: http://maddox.xmission.com/xbox_suckit.html

Gamecube is good if you have kids and have no interest in gaming.

PC games are far better than any gaming console. If you're looking to be a serious gamer, purchase a serious gaming PC. You'll receive little to no valuable rewards with a console game.
