I have several Opus X and Opus X Lost City cigars for trade. Paid over $80 apiece for the Opus X at auction, only to find that the flavor profile is not to my liking. Any offers? Looking to trade. I'm not going to use them and it's a shame for cigars this rare and expensive to just sit here. Still in plastic. Didn't bother aging them after I tried the first.

Also have 3 Arturo Fuente God of Fire cigars that I would rather trade than smoke.

Lol, well it was years ago when I was spending like $350 a week on cigars that I never had time to smoke. I have more than I could ever smoke and I don't even like all of them. Gave a ton away, only to find one of my friends smoking a $35 Ashton and throwing it away half smoked. Never again. lol. But yah, you're correct about the Opus X's. I can't stand to lose a bidding war. I bought all of them in that lot Learned to be more patient now.

Think
A bit confused here . . . If you didn't smoke them, and you didn't "age" them, just what DID you do with them ?

Put them in "the stack". There's somewhere between 1,500 and 2,000 cigars in it now. I have six humidors, kept at various levels of humidity depending on the contents, (I like the funk) but I was hesitant to put the Fuente Fuentes in them cause I didn't expect to have them this long.

I know lol. I don't usually keep ultra premiums that long. I have two Gukha HMR tubos I'm trying to recoup my losses on as well. Bought on Ebay because I had a buyer and he backed out. Smoked one. Terrible. I always hate liquor infused cigars, so I wasn't very surprised.

I know. I'm a terrible impulse buyer. Always made money on i though. I got through college basically by flipping guitars on Ebay. It doesn't work with cigars so well, I always end up keeping them lol.

That's what I was thinking, Justin, but thought I might be missing something.

You were probably storing them with your gurkha hmr.

I would like to see a pic of the Opus alongside the HMRs and a picture with your cbid handle on it.

On another note, shouldn't this discussion be moved to the overbid thread?

Doubting Thomas, eh? I'll see what I can find for a pic, but I'm not digging through my entire stash just for a proof pic.

Pic is posted, pending mod approval, in a new thread, in the Cigar pics category. I don't know how long it takes to get approved.

Oh, I've given up on that, lol. I'm a sucker for a good deal of any kind, especially if it is on something I am interested in (Guns, smokes, musical instruments), even if I have absolutely no use for it. Of course, at auction, good deals have a way of morphing into rage bids, as I'm sure you are aware. The guns and guitars aren't so bad because they only increase in value over time if kept in shape. Cigars are harder to unload lol. Not like I can legally put them on Ebay, although people do all the time.

It's a symptom of my generation. "lol" now basically means that you said something with lighthearted intent. That's pretty much it, but it's almost impossible to post online without using it once you get used to it. It just shows that you're not taking things too seriously. At least I don't say "literally" in every single sentence like the teens now.

Well, I guess if you spend $80 per Opus, then I guess it isn't that far fetched that you would own one, or two or even a box of HMRs.

Us lowly scrubs wouldn't even think of buying HMR's, and definitely wouldn't spend $80 per Opus, so congrats on winning life!

I have to give you credit. Not sure I could sound as petty as you if I tried. I admitted I paid too much for the Opus X's because I got competitive, bringing it up in almost every reply to me is just redundant and pointless. Unless your point is to sound bitter?

It serves a purpose. Never ban the use of a tool, even an obtrusive tool. This forum could definitely use a bit more levity.

Uh this is only my 3rd comment and stuff. So I've only mentioned how you overpaid for opus by almost 500% in just 50% of my previous 2 comments.

I remember when CBID used to put HMRs on the site for well over HALF OFF MSRP. We used to have whole threads dedicated to the listings and wondered if there was anyone out there who was.... nm, I'll just stop there.

Oh, not bitter, I couldn't care less how much you pay for your cigars.

if I was any happier I'd open the bulkhead and step out of my mother's basement...and then alarms would sound all over town.

Do you remember when they were on sale on Ebay for the last few years for like 1/4 of what they cost here? Dork.

You bought cigars on ebay?

ROFL!!!

That's comedy.

You gotta hit the shpos to get Opus. It's the only way to get them at a decent price, online retailers rape you (I know a few that don't, but they don't stay in stock very long).
