I've been buying cigars here for years and I've never seen Free Fall auctions totally disappear. Is this something new? Are they re-setting things for more Free Falls or are they gone indefinitely?

Have a look at the search function. Neither the "Auction Type" nor "Category" dropdown menus have "Freefall" among their options. Did they used to? I forget, but I think so! For that matter, NONE of the search controls I see has any mention of, or option for, "Freefall" anything. It's like Freefalls don't exist.

I design and code webapps like this, so I see two possibilities:

1. The search options are hard-coded or config-table-driven, which means a programmer was told to manually remove the Freefall search options either from the code, or from the config table that the code uses. This would be a deliberate act indicating Freefall is going bye-bye.

2. The search options are dynamic based on what auctions currently exist. Therefore, if there are no Freefall auctions today, the code doesn't bother putting Freefall options in the search tool today. This would not involve a deliberate act, it's passive and automatic.

So let's hope the system's made with method #2, and there just happen to be no Freefalls today!

Yup, clearly their web app uses method #2 above. It omitted Freefall from the search options because there were no Freefall auctions that day. Now with the Freefall auctions back, the Freefall options are back in the search controls too.

Anyway, glad to see them back!

The Nightcrawlers improve with time quite a bit, let 'em rest awhile. Great stick though.

I loaded up on them when the mothership did a stupid-crazy-low deal back in the spring. Nightcrawler 10-packs are $43 normally, and they did a sale that made them BOGO plus added a $20 Bucks card. So, you got 20 Nightcrawlers for a net $23, meaning $1.15 per stick.

Much more insane was the MUWAT KFC deal going at the same time: The KFC Kyotos 10-packs are usually $24, but with BOGO and a $20 Bucks card, it nets out to 20 sticks for $4, meaning $0.20 per stick.

Needless to say, I bought a metric schitt-ton of both during the sale, since there were no limits!

I have never found anything on freefall, that I couldn't eventually win for far less on the regular Cbid auctions.

The Jaime Garcia Robusto10 packs for 34.99 used to be a decent deal.
Typically higher than bid prices here, but I haven't checked in a year or two.....might not be the current reset.

+1
Even in da olden days, a good price was 22/23ish.
I've never seen a 10 pack for under 20.......in fact.......I'd almost venture a guess that someone goofed on setting the FF reset.
Sshhh....

Nightcrawlers at $1.15/ea is simply impressive.

Think
I wonder if DP could have got them for $1.05...

Just watched a batch of FF for the Jaime Garcia Rob 10 pack.
Starts at 64/65
Lowest reset I saw was 43ish.

Pretty sure the days of 34.99 are over.

It was one of those "are they nuts?" mothership deals. MUWAT and MUWAT KFC 10-packs, buy one get one free, PLUS a $20 Bucks card thrown in. So the cheaper 10-packs were disproportionately more discounted because of the $20 Bucks card's fixed value. So for the cheapest one, the MUWAT KFC Kyotos at $24, it was pretty much pure insanity on their part, and for the Nightcrawlers at $43 it was still near-insanity.

It was advertised in their promotional emails and right on the front page too, if I remember right, so it was no mistake. But just, wow. Talk about a time to load up!

It may have included free shipping too, or maybe there was a promo code for that, I forget, but I did get free shipping.
