98.2% of registered voters know who they would vote for...the winners are the candidates that get their backers to actually vote.

Let's just throw a handful of chit and see if it sticks... Think

In an especially combative moment late Wednesday, Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., asked Kavanaugh whether he ever had discussed Special Counsel Robert Mueller or his Russia probe with anyone at Kasowitz Benson Torres, the law firm founded by Marc Kasowitz, a former personal attorney to President Trump.

"Be sure about your answer," Harris warned. "I'm asking you a very direct question. Yes or no?"

"I'm not sure I know everyone who works at that law firm," Kavanaugh said. "I'm not remembering, but I'm happy to be refreshed."

"How can you not remember whether or not you had a conversation about Robert Mueller or his investigation with anyone at that law firm?" Harris asked, visibly exasperated. "This investigation has only been going on for so long, sir, so please answer the question."

"I'm just trying to think -- do I know anyone who works at that firm?" Kavanaugh eventually replied. "I'd like to know the person you're thinking of."

"I think you're thinking of someone and you don't want to tell us," Harris shot back, sending the room into a few seconds of near-total silence.

Utah Republican Sen. Mike Lee then interjected briefly to defend Kavanaugh, saying that "this town is full of law firms" and that they "are constantly metastasizing, they break off, they form new firms -- they're like rabbits. There's no possible way we can expect this witness to know who populates an entire firm."

A barrage of protesters erupted in a chant of "Answer the question" before being led out by police as Lee spoke. In all, 73 people were arrested and charged for unlawful demonstrations within Senate buildings on Wednesday, including 66 people who were removed from the hearing room during the day, according to Capitol Police officials.

^24 - that was an interesting exchange...no way to ever know what was going on in Kavanaugh's mind at that moment.....

To me, it sounded sincerely the way he reacted -- 'maybe I did, but I'm not exactly sure who was with that firm at any one time, and I'm not about to perjure myself just because I'm unsure'....but, I can easily understand the interpretation of Harris and others who thought he was purposely evasive, not just unsure

Grassley's one who I thought should have been term-limited out about 25 years ago, but I liked his comments the day before the hearings. He was talking about dem complaints about not getting documents; Klobuchar, I think is who he referred to. Essentially, he said, 'she said she would vote no for anyone who Trump selected, so why is whining about more docs??? Her mind was made up long ago"

Keeps getting better... Threaten him with docs that prolly don't even exist... Not talking

The third day of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearing opened with fireworks, as New Jersey Democratic Sen. Cory Booker vowed to release a confidential Kavanaugh email in violation of Senate rules as an act of “civil disobedience,” drawing condemnation from the Republicans on the committee.

“I am going to release the e-mail about racial profiling and I understand that the penalty comes with potential ousting from the Senate,” Booker said.

The New Jersey Democrat said he would “knowingly” violate the Senate rules to release the email.

A day earlier, in a dramatic exchange, Booker implied Kavanaugh had been open to racial profiling tactics, citing an email exchange between Kavanaugh and a colleague. However, Booker did not provide Kavanaugh a copy of the emails to review while questioning him about it, prompting another objection from Lee, who charged that it was inappropriate to "cross-examine" Kavanaugh about documents that he "can't see."

I disagree.
Even if Kavanaugh was being elusive, this "interpretation" requires purposeful deception by Harris. Kavanaugh asked him to "refresh" his memory and Harris refused.

Just tell him what you're asking. You've demanded a specific answer and yet you're refusing to provide known specifics to allow the most accurate answer. Harris doesn't want an answer. He wants a misstep.

Classless.

Agreed.

Since I wrote that above, I've read quotes from Harris from last night or this morning where she clearly sleazed this up - last night she tried to trap Kavanaugh with her "be very careful how you answer this", as if she KNEW something which was factual and important ....and then after the hearings, she stumbled into chit like "I have pretty good sources"....or some other bs

Why haven't they produced the ALL the documents of his work during the Bush Administration?

Since nominees have taken to not answering questions during the confirmation process and the Senators grill or puff along party lines, documents of the nominee's legal work should all be open and public, so that his/her judicial philosophies can be explored. Then let the questions emanate from those documents... that everyone can see.

The Republicans have sufficient votes to confirm him. The lasting legacy of the Trump presidency will be the confirmation of 2 new supreme court justices.

I completely get it, and I support it, even knowing that sometimes I have to suffer some anguish during a term here and there from winners with whom I disagree...as it was, I was going to disagree with either candidate the last go round!

I was only saying that you may want to walk back a little from making it sound like a resounding statement by Americans to support the current state of affairs.

I'd add that given the insanity and loss of dignity in the WH, some Trump voters may be having second thoughts.

Hey, we're just expressing some opinions on a discount cigar forum. Me and you, we ain't fixing nothing!

Even if you love Trump's direction, at least admit his behavior is disgusting. Worse than Bush barfing in that guy's lap.

Is this how you want American's to be perceived?

IMO the current administration can be summarized as a "mash-up" of the previous 28 years of administration and molded into one highly childish whining .......

You get the picture
