Borrowed from Let's Rock
, with a few changes.

I want to see if we can get a 13 run baseball pool going this year. For those of you not familiar here is how it works.

We will need 30 people to join, one for each baseball team.
(You may take more than one team, if you are so inclined.)
Once all 30 have signed up I will pick your MLB team(s) out of a hat and that is the team you are assigned too.
ACTUALLY, the WebSite will randomly assign a team to you when I type your name in the grid

The object is to have your team score from 0 to 13 runs throughout the course of the season starting on opening day,
which is March 20th, when the A's and Mariners play in Tokyo. The rest of the league will start on Wednesday, March 28th . . .
It does not matter if your team wins or loses the game, just their total runs matter. For example, you have the Tigers and they lose 9-4, the number 4 gets crossed off the grid. Tomorrow they win 11-3, the number 11 gets crossed off the grid and so on until the Tigers score everywhere from 0 -13 runs.

The first team to do this wins.

The buy in is a decent 5er".
(If you're not sure what "decent fiver" means, ASK ! )

There will also be payouts to the 2nd thru 6th fastest teams to do this as well.

1st - Ten fivers
2nd - Six
3rd - Five
4th - Four
5th - Three
6th - Two

Any questions . . . please feel free to ask.
This is my first attempt at running a pool like this, so cut me some slack.

I've been having issues with humidity so I don't feel great about the quality of my smokes to send to someone right now.

If you need someone in a pinch let me know and I can always buy a 5er on here and ship to the winner.

Well then, this just might be the thing to get you into baseball.
It'll give you incentive to watch your assigned team play.

Or get to 15 and have everyone double down for two teams.
Or get to 15 and make it AL or NL only.

Just filled slot #15.
If we were going to double up everyone with two teams, it would have to be done NOW, before someone else signs up and throws the count off.

Two possible scenarios . . .
1. Everyone gets two teams, antes up another 5 cigars for the second team, and prize payout remains the same.
1st - Ten fivers
2nd - Six
3rd - Five
4th - Four
5th - Three
6th - Two

2. Everyone gets two teams for their original 5 cigar ante. Prize payout as follows.
1st - 10 fivers
2nd - 4
3rd - 1

Thoughts anyone ?

I haven't been very good at winning any of these type of pools. I say let's double to 10 cigars. Because it doesn't cost me anything more to send 10 vs 5.

I'm good with whatever you decide...if we take two teams apiece, maybe make it an AL team and a NL team...

I like the original payout / ante scenario with everyone having 2 teams.

But, like Phil, am fine with either scenario.

SIGN UP HAS ENDED !

I don't think we will get to the 30 mark, so we will go with TWO teams each for the 15 players who have singed up already.
Will wait to hear from everyone as to which scenario they prefer.

So far:
Scenario #1 . . . 2 votes
Scenario #2 . . . 0 votes
No preference . . 3 votes

I like #1 too, but I didn't want people to feel like I was forcing them into putting up an additional 5 cigars.
That's why I came up with scenario #2.

I like Option 1 but with the thought of everyone getting one team from each league (AL and NL).

Quick stupid question from the ReRe gallery here.

Do I send you my ante John? I never have gotten involved in a sports pool before.

Scenario #1, with each player getting one team from the AL and one team from the NL, is the way we will go.
Thanks for the input, everyone.
I will post the pool site url as soon as I get the picks in.

We will be sending directly to the winners, once the pool has been completed.
I will tell you who to send to, and you can contact them for their address.

Any other questions or concerns, please feel free to ask.
