But I'm sure our ignorant will say more severe weather due to climate change is a lie. Just face east and bow to the cowardly orange lion when the sun rises tomorrow.

So....a tropical storm in the Caribbean in late August is due to climate change.....so...climate change is no different in 2019 than in...say.... every other year of recorded history?

Did you fart because global warming made you fart or because you support global warming and wanted to do your part?

See Dave stupid, you interpreted what I said to fit your stupidity. Gosh, I even predicted that. Climate change scientists have predicted/modeled that weather, will be more severe, due to climate change. The stupid like you will always deny this is happening, and continue to act like your comments have any value. Have a very Trumpy day!!!

Spey, you got me.

Clearly I haven't been paying attention.

Which scientist attributes Dorian to climate change?

I am sort of honored. To be christened 'stupid' by the author of this and the first couple posts in this thread is strangely rewarding.

Reading difficult for you? Or are you pathetically trying to deflect. Here is some help moron. I have not said the storm or hurricane was caused by climate change. I said climate change has caused increased severity in weather. The number of legitimate scientific studies that have came to this conclusion is large. If you want some facts, look this up for yourself as I have never see you provide facts for your erroneous counter points.

Come now. I don't necessarily agree with spey on this particular thread.... but THIS is the thread you decide is demonstrating "idiocracy"?

You gotta be kidding.

That's like the trump morons who whine about AOC being dumb or unfit for her office.

Well played for a conscientious deflector. Are there any legitimate scientists discounting climate change? What should we classify you as? Ah, I've got it. Sabre rattling intellectually challenged. I will give you that you aren't part of the Trump club here. But you do seem to be one of the multiple morons. Shouldn't Anthony the hall monitor be around soon to add his drivel also?

The role of natural cycles in hurricanes

The oceans experience a variety of natural circulation patterns, or oscillations, that influence the distribution of warm and cold water in the upper ocean. These naturally occurring oscillations affect ocean conditions on timescales ranging from just a few years to several decades and are known to affect the intensity of hurricanes.

During the warm, or El Niño, phase of the El Niño Southern Oscillation (ENSO), for example, hurricanes are less likely to make landfall in eastern Australia and Atlantic hurricanes tend to be suppressed. However, El Niño conditions can boost typhoon risks in parts of Asia.

The presence of these natural oscillations can mask or enhance the potential influence of human-caused warming on hurricane activity. Recent scientific studies increasingly question whether human activities have contributed to observed shifts in natural circulation patterns.

~From The Union Of Concerned Scientists website

I am not a climate change denier but EVERYTHING I have read (that is peer reviewed) on this subject, indicated that severity of storms MAY BE OR IS EXPECTED TO BE impacted by anthropogenic factors but any increase in the quantity and severity observed so far may also be just the result of the observed increases in surface water temperatures.

Do not be throwing actual science into this with cites and everything. That will just screw it all up. Shame on you

And that not of them were caught and admitted to faking data to support their desired outcome. Luckily that's not happened either.

Interesting Rick, they have also issued multiple reports on global warming, deforestation, et al. Included in these reports are reccomendations on how to decrease human causes of these problems. Though they do include non human causes. MACS, though I am stating it harshly, I am simply stating my POV. I do consider people who refuse to accept all truths regarding serious problems, issues, and events idiots.

All those new solar panels will blow away and the shoddy repairs to the antiquated traditional grid power lines will break again...

Then they will have to start ALL OVER AGAIN...

THIS SOUNDS LIKE THE VICIOUS cycle every 2-4 years...
Over and over again...

It will never end With global warming.

You don't have to be a scientist to notice Global warming. My garden growing season now starts earlier and ends later.Smart people have been paid a lot of money to come up with denial theories and many weak minded people just jump on board.

It's just damned inconsiderate of Puerto Rico to keep collecting hurricanes this way. I mean, we've spent....eleventy gajillion dollars on the island and its troublesome woes by now. I mean, it's way out in the middle of the ocean, fer cryin' out loud. We could have BOUGHT the island by now at this...wait, what? It's actually part of the U.S.? Well, where are it's reps and senators? Oh, up in the observation gallery, as they don't get a vote in Congress.

Still, why they insist on sitting there in the middle of storm paths...well, it's just damned inconsiderate, and probably the fault of Obama, Democrats, Macron, Trudeau, Merkel, etc., and the media is stirring it up just to make a certain person look worse. I mean, we never had this...

wait, it could hit Florida? God, I don't ask for much, and clear the people out ahead of time, but if you could just spin about a 100 foot deep hole where Mar-a-Lago sits, and then leave everything else untouched, that'd be peachy. You do that, and I'd go all covfefe and buy everyone a round of hamberders.

We sent off a lot of our equipment and guys from my company who did a lot of restore work to the power grid when they had the major storm not too long ago. Unfortunately my department will never go, wish we could the amount of travel pay at our company is insane.

#42 Nope. When he hears the wind reports, he's going to claim we've installed a giant hand dryer like those found in public bathrooms, only for the entire territory, then a friend of his will have a company that bills them $6.2 billion for the installation while he insists the dryer is going up in a hurry and is progressing well. Wait...I might be thinking of a wall or something.

You climate change alarmists need to consider your sources. I recommend a book titled

Inconvenient Facts: The science Al Gore doesn't want you to know. I could recommend a dozen more books on the
subject but, this is dumbed down a little for some of us to understand.

You climate change "deniers" should read the very same book so when the dimwits from the other side start spewing
crap they know nothing about, just crap they've read or heard from their "reliable sources", you can sound like you know
what you're talking about.

Puerto Rico has received millions of dollars in material to rebuild the power grid and infrastructure. The very same material the "natives" stole to scrap for beer money.

Puerto Rico was sent millions of dollars worth of equipment to use to rebuild the power grid and infrastructure. The very
same equipment that's been vandalized by the indigenous people.

So, we had to send in our contractors to do the work and to guard and/ or quarantine the newly delivered material and
equipment. That didn't set back the "rebuild" at all............

I know you guys that rely on the "main stream media" for your info know all about this. Sarcasm

This island could be one of the richest in the Caribbean but, like most liberally ran cities, states or municipalities it's not.

Go figure...

Way to go Puerto Rico!

No, it is not, that is simply how you choose to interpret it, don't twist my words and state that I said something I have not. Oh, I'm on my phone so copy and past links doesn't work to good. Axious put out the initial report about Trump questioning nuking hurricanes. I see not additional reports on this, only reports that are about the report.
