I'm looking into a whole house surge protection after a getting a $1,000 bill for replacing a heat pump compressor, under warranty. The bill is for labor, materials, especially that "special" new freon and shipping charges to get the replacement compressor. ram27bat

My power company leases and sells whole-house surge protectors that come with insurance.

Great idea, however Dominion Energy doesn't off them except to so 100 homeowners that were impacted by a voltage surge.
