A valid danger, he might have a heat attack from guilt, but more likely he just doesn't want to try and defend his CS act.

he knew there would be blowback if he voted to convict, from every conservative perspective except the Never Trumpers...

not sure if he'll run for re-election to the Senate in 5 years...

he made an impassioned speech to explain his decision, but I couldn't help thinking it was payback for Trump's public humiliation of him when Trump invited him to his Tower to talk about a spot on his cabinet, then sent Romney out with his tail between his legs...wonder how that discussion went, especially after Romney torched Trump during the campaign and said Trump was unfit to be POTUS...says something about Romney that he would even consider filling a post for a man who he said should not be POTUS...

but a lotta GOP are twisting their values and previous declarations, looking silly in retrospect, by getting on board the Trump train...Graham crackers...

I dunno... I'm pretty sure she is.

either that or she pulled off a pretty elaborate hoax to escape me.... one which involves a bunch of cigar ashes in an urn.

hmmm.....
I better go check that urn again.

I keed, I keed. I'm certain given her health there is no way she could have faked her own death successfully.

there is 0% chance she's alive and sipping espresso in a cafe in Italy.

She wouldn't be able to speak Italian anyway.

Really makes me wonder about Romney....It looks like a move driven by character, honesty....but in a politician? And for a party that feels might makes right and backs criminals???

It is a puzzlement, I’ll admit.

I mean, we've already seen what acting in a manner that shows good character gets you if you're a republican. Your average trumper here calls him a RINO and lumps him in with the dems who they apparently now are willing to put in "death camps"....

so.... party of good morals I suppose....

That sh#t started back with the flag pins (possibly earlier)... that's about when I realized there was a large portion of the republican party which was not interested in doing anything other than show how much flag they were willing to wear.

Romney is a liberal, always has been and always will be.I seriously think he thought this would somehow give him clout...….and after seeing guys gush over him it would appear it worked.Except in Utah where I think he will be unseated for this stupid act.But seriously if all he fooled was the liberals I'm good with that

I remember when not supporting Bush's invasion of Iraq was anti american, liberal blah blah blah. To not support the leader of the country, and leader of the Republican party was a sin. I think Trump was a democrat at the time but I'm not sure of the timeline.

Now all leaders of the Republican party prior to Trump are liberals, RINOs etc. Romney, McCain, Bush II, Bush I etc. All RINOs. Trump is the only true Republican. And the folks with this logic think TDS is about others.

The only thing that's stayed consistent is the demand for lock-step adherence to whatever the ideology is at the time.

If you stand together with omerta nothing can be bipartisan thus you can claim any oversight is illegitimate. Romney's sin was breaking omerta and not justifying the unjustifiable.

Every criticism of trump and his actions is personal or to be discounted. Only his words are to be taken as stated (unless he's just kidding and stuff). All hail. Its getting sick. Its worse thn the obamaphants.

And all former republican leaders were rinos and are to be discounted. The are just jelly of the only true R. There can only be one.

Pretty sure I called Romney a "liberal" not a democrat. There is a difference,Zell Miller was a democrat but not a liberal.

Romney is a RINO and yes so was McCain.

Trump may be a repube but he is no conservative.I supported him because he was the best choice in 2016 after my guys were knocked off one by one.I support him now because he is doing what needs to be done to make America better.Key in on Bernie free everything or Liz the wonder squaw and tell me that's where you want us to go.The only dem I could get behind is Tulsi Gabbard...…...not sure I could bring myself to vote for her but get behind her ,"oh hell yes"

And I never said you called anyone a Democrat. I said Trump WAS a Democrat while it was important everyone get behind all the previous Republican leaders that are now called RINOS. Its weird yet some think its normal.

Trump is a Democrat that grew up and understood America.

Just like Reagan did too.

Reagan let Mondale win Minnesota. Check the numbers. Yeah.

So...how bad is your new defector going to screw over his former party to get the point across that WE, the people matter?

Keep up your best "I hate you" banter. It's not going to work any more. Try it again and watch.

America is over the DNC.

The DNC really is a terrorist organization.

are we talking electoral or popular vote here when we speak in absolutes about domination and failure of the two major political parties?
cuz it seems to happen more often lately that the majority opinion does not win the actual election of candidates...

a legit win for sure, I still support that system, but hardly the stuff of a mandate.

I can see that, and I didn't vote for either major party last time. I came in a distant third.
