He's trolling you... he's doing something ridiculous to get you to react in an unhinged manner... and it's working...

the president has a can of beans in his desk and you actually give a ****... think about that for a second.... you took time out of your day to start a thread on the internet to complain that the president had a can of beans on his desk...

whatever you think this situation says about the president, it says a whole lot more about you...

I'd much rather have a cbid poster waste time commenting about the POTUS doing a bean commercial than have the POTUS do the bean commercial because the owner blew him...a kiss.

Even more, I'd rather the POTUS stop playing prepubescent games like trolling people that do not support him.

Saw a lawn sign the other day...Any Mature Adult For President

I'm still buying the products they (Goya) make that I prefer, but it is nutz that Trump and his hot daughter are doing bean commercials when so much requires he focus on his job instead of the election.

he really has abandoned his job.

So you didn't like it when Obama roasted Trump back when Trump was a civilian and Obama was president? That bothered you a great deal?

"he's just trolling" and "what a rube you wasted time commenting on something stupid the president did" are really not acceptable answers.

I mean... "He's just sitting funny because he sh@t his pants, you're such a sucker for noticing" is not a normal situation.

he has abandoned the job.

The seriousness of the situation is that we have a media that profits from division and has convinced even you that somehow anything the president does will get a fair shake in the news... he could cure cancer and they would criticize him for putting all those chemo nurses out of work...

As for abandoning the job, that's ridiculous and I would bet you can't list 3 things Trump could do as a leader right now that wouldn't get him crucified by one side of the media or the other...

... you're rating performance on media reaction?

That's....dumb...
Your analogy that he could cure cancer and be criticised is ridiculous. Even if he were criticized, he would have actually cured cancer. There would actually be a positive action which he took, that could be pointed to as an action. Complaining that the media would criticize him is ridiculous.

You're saying "he could do something great for the country, but the media would say something mean so there's no reason for him to do it".

You're saying that he's been paralyzed because of the potential of criticism. So? Being president it hard. He's clearly not up for the job if he's unable to make any action because he's be crucified for it.

blame the media even when they cover what he says and does.
step one.

Did you complain when it was said if Obama cured cancer and it would only cost $1 per person the GOP Congress would have vetoed it?

We are here now. The roast doesn't matter now, didn't matter then.

Is there any truth to the report he didn't talk to Fauci since June? How is that remotely possible?
Is it the media's fault that he did something worth reporting that happens to be idiotically negative?

Blame the media has gotten old. Time for action. What's his plan?

Governors did not say no, our system of government said no, but he is unfamiliar with it's workings.

He dumped it all on the Governors as he fled responsibility in a time that a great leader could have been born.
What a tremendous opportunity for his legacy he has passed on while hoping to be connected magically to a rise in the stock market.

I don't disagree with what you're saying.
But people vote based on the media reaction.

The doublespeak from the left is mind numbing.

We were told to fear Trump and his inevitable over-reach for power.

He takes a step back and allows states to handle things on their own.

And he gets lambasted for it.

Meanwhile we hear how stupid Florida is. And Texas. And other states that are seeing the virus cycle through their geographical territory.
New York has 278 deaths per 100k from the covid. Florida has 22.

I'm no math major...

That's a big "so?"
The president is elected to lead the country. Not to work to ensure he gets a second term.

And the president is the biggest proponent of "cancel culture" we have right now. Do you remember how many times he's called for boycotts or for people to stop using or watching crap?

As to the step back in power, it was another attempt at overreach. States still do have some rights. As to leadership - you have to be kidding or not watching the orange guy in the clown suit.

It's fun watching old people confuse boycotts and cancel culture... "why, back in my day we had cancel culture, but we called it boycotts... of course eventually we ran out of boys and cots, so half of us burned down the cot store and the other half of us, the orphanage... and that's where cancel culture came from..."

that was a totally different set of circumstances...Obama was speaking as a guest at an after hours entertainment event sponsored by a media organization...as every POTUS who was a special guest at that event before him, it was expected that he be funny, light-hearted, and off the job, off the record...he was all that, but some peeps got butt hurt...

Trump was on the job, in the WH, at his desk and it had all the appearance of an official endorsement...pretty sure that sort of stuff is inappropriate if not illegal...

would you be as willing to give Obama a pass if he had an El Pollo Loco combo meal and a 2 liter bottle of Dr. Pepper on the desk in the West Wing of the WH while he was doing a media briefing?

Guess when Biden is in the WH it'll be OK for him to have a can of Boost on the desk...and then break into a short speech by saying..."dang, I coulda had a V-8" while pulling out a can...while wearing a polo shirt with a Nike swirl...

I don't think Boost is enough to help his cognitive function, I would accept Prevagen Extra Strength on the desk though.

They got exactly what they wanted, they’ve been targeting the Mark Hatfield federal building for a reason. We’ve got some real peaches here who think they’re “centrists” who aren’t participating but think destroying public property is a meaningful way to impact change. Same crowd that uses stereotypes to belittle people while screaming racism....same crowd who was fine with OSP and FBI murdering someone.

I think it’s worth watching to see that nobody’s rights were trampled even if I disagree with them. But they’re actually calling out the III% groups and militias for not showing up for them. It’s a sad comedy.

This state has been shattered for about 2 decades, we have feckless greedy republicans who are afraid of the few R’s who have a spine giving them a bad image. And we have some good meaning Democrats who won’t stand up to the majority of flat out evil leaders in their party. Our PERs system is BILLIONS in the hole because of them. Our OR Supreme Court is filled with hand picked activists (Oregon has a LONG history of an unwritten tradition that a judge NEVER COMPLETES their term so the Governor can NAME the replacement as our system makes it difficult for a non incumbent to unseat the incumbent).

I will never leave this state but it hurts to see what has taken place and the compliance that has been yoked upon the people with government dollars.

The angry people want the very people who caused the problems to fix them.
