The Lenovo laptop is reaching its 8th birthday. Like it's user, its seen better days, slowing down and and needing reboots. Looking for ....

-Speed
-Memory
-Reliability
-Get 8 years out of it
-Not to exceed $800

What would you recommend?

I got an HP Envy from Costco Online... $800.

17" screen, 16GB memory, 4GB graphics, 1TB hard drive. Intel Corei7 8th gen processor. I like it. It's also a touch screen, but not a feature I use much.

Computers don't typically wear out like people or mechanical machines. Sluggishness and repeated reboots over time are probably software related issues (assuming you have adequate RAM - 4 GB minimum but more is better).

What have you been installing on the thing?

As mentioned above, you can probably get something in the $400 range to meet general family use like web surfing, email, word processing, spread sheets, budget planning...

Thank yo, Brothers. I’ll look further into those two makes and model.

Bucky,
Yes, you round out what I use it for. I do not use it to watch Izod and the Goats. Have that on Audible.

After ten or twelve times through, it begins to get kinda old. Still can’t tell who is doing the bleating.
