Sometimes Losing A Bid...

Isn't a sign of weakness.

I smoked a Montecristo Espada Oscuro Guard (Toro) and really liked it. Saw one and bid on a box here. I bid 102.00. Someone sniped me and they won. I was bummed and then saw a free fall auction and won the same box of cigars for 76.00.

So, sometimes the good Lord just sends one down.

Thanks!

It has happened to me also - lose a bid and catch a bargain on the same cigar a few days later on a freefall. I would rather be called weak than a bid runner.

Didn't lose a bid but a couple years ago I went to a Fuente event and in the buying line, was around the 20th person. When I got up to the front, saw that there was a card but an empty space for 8-5-8 Rosados. I asked if there were more but was told that the 2nd person in line bought the entire allotment - a box of 20 @$12.00 per. I was a little frustrated / pissed 'cause at the time, the Rosados were very limited and didn't understand why, in the name of fairness, the organizer didn't limit the purchases to maybe 2 cigars per person. Was even thinking of complaining but let it go.

Anyway, got home and for S&G searched to see if there were any of them still out in the wild. Amazingly found a box for about $7.00 per and even with shipping, was gonna pay less than $8.00 each. Got my credit card and purchased it. So, thanks to the well-heeled but somewhat greedy buyer, I found some htf cigars and paid about $80.00 less than him.

Naw...it's still weakness. A winner would have got both things.

This. It's basic cost averaging.
