Used to really enjoy My Fathers, but hadn't had one in years.
Just happened to get a great bid on a couple of 5 packs. So, I was stoked to reacquaint myself with them.

Disappointed to find it tasted like a dive bar ash tray with not so subtle hints of ass on the finish. Burn was terrible too.
Let them sit a couple weeks in the humidor and tried burning one again tonight. No improvement.

What the hell happened?

They suck now. Send them to me and I will get rid of them for you.

They've determined that dive bar ash tray with not so subtle hints of ass on the finish is the flavor profile preferred by millennial morons like you..

I've never really enjoyed a MF cigar right away. Was either w-a-y too peppery or, like you experienced, had burn issues. Learned to let them sit for no less than a year, sometimes two, before smoking them.

Never had those issues in the past. Guess putting them to bed for a long time is my option, though. Thanks for the input!

Wow, ya think of that one all on your own?

Don't be upset - they obviously wanted to send you something with the taste that you're used to...

I think they’ve taken a step back in quality, I don’t buy them anymore.

Strangely enough Tatuajes have not. I smoke TF outta them.

I (...accidentally...) buried a few Petit Robustos for about 5 years and when I “discovered” them last year, they were GREAT! Dunno if the current production will give you the same results but I guess at this point in time, worth a shot.

Good luck!

Upset? Hahahahaha Dude you're trolling cigar forums. How could anyone allow anything so pitiful to upset them?

Yeah, I'll give these a long nap in the cedar, but won't be buying anymore in the meantime.

my last purchase of My Father cigars was a box of the No.4s, lanceros, about 6 months ago...my fave vitola

I've enjoyed three of them already, and all three were very good...prolly will have one every now and then, while allowing the remainder to rest...if they are like the previous stuff, should be superior another year out...

I've bought fivers of La Opulencia and La Promesa, various sizes, and thought they were pretty good...not sure if they have aging potential...

I had a DPG Blue Generoso that someone gifted me in a PIB (may have been you Delta, gotta go look it up) and it really tasted nothing like I remember when I bought them 5-6 years ago. Now, the last examples I had smoked were a couple years old already at the time, and I recall they aged fantastic, so not sure if I just smoked it way to young and should have held onto it a little longer or not.

10 years ago or so, they were good ROTT, and really good after a year, and excellent after a long nap.
5 years ago, imho, they needed 6 months to get to where I like them, but as will all DPG stuff, really shined after a year or three.

I’m still buying, but will not touch them for at least 18 months........probably more like 2 years.

I think it’s just a demand thing, and My Father is trying to keep up, maybe pushing out some tobacco a bit ahead of its time.

I agree on those two but will say the La Promesa is a favorite from that brand. Have some of the new Fonseca ordered but waiting for the size I wanted to get in still. Wondering if the blend will provide a cigar that is now in the $10 range value or if it is still a $2 Fonseca with the MF branding.

Pepin went on my 'do not buy' list last year. It was a sad day. But if a cigar has been sitting in my 62% RH humidor for 3 years with no cello, and it still tastes like ammonia/terpentine after the first 2", I'm done.
