I recently had knee surgery and contracted some kind of viral chest infection at the surgery center. It may be the covid. I don't know because trying to get a test is a cluster.
I can't smell anything. I can breathe through my nose (some), just can't detect anything. I have an ash can full of old cigar butts and ashes that stinks to high heaven, and I can't smell it at all.
Anyway, without a sense of smell, I can't taste cigars at all. Nothing. I get subtle notes of warm air, and that's about it. The cigar equivalent of drinking a room-temperature glass of water while staring at a blank white wall. So, basically, everything tastes like an Onyx Reserve.
I was looking forward to at least sitting around enjoying a cigar while the wheel mends, but guess not. It's really shown me how critical smell is to tasting cigars.
This is the devil's disease.
