I’m curious what lighters everyone is using and how they like them.
Currently I am using a Xikar Turismo. I liked it at first, but lately I have noticed that the flame never seems to stay the same size between uses and I am constantly adjusting the fuel output. Also, if you even whisper near it, the flame stutters. Boo hoo!

I’d like to find something a little more consistent, I’m hoping to get a few recommendations based on what you guys are currently using.

Thanks in advance!

I have quite a few but I really like the Alec Bradley “the burner”
It lights anything when I can really set down and enjoy the cigar I’m smoking. If I’m on the go anything that has fuel in it. I usually carry a cheap o with a clear reservoir so I can see it has fuel. I carry a lotus in my golf bag. The big boy with the triple flame. I guess it’s a table lighter.
I always carry a bic in the truck so if all else fails. Well the bic will do the job.

I’d recommend “the burner” to anyone it is a large table lighter that just flat out works. Doesn’t matter what type of butane. It always lights. Doesn’t sputter. Get yourself one

A Bic lighter. I'm not joking or being sarcastic. I

I like the soft flame, they're cheap, they're dependable and perfect for camping/backpacking and fishing. Plus if I lose it I'm out a dollar or so.

I have some torches but never use them anymore.

I have a lotus lighter I bought here on cbid.. It's described as a table top but not so big you couldn't stick in a pocket. It looks like an over sized zippo and is sturdy as a tank, gun metal with 3 torches and a 5 vegas logo.. If you shop on here, I'm sure you've seen one.

I had trouble getting/keeping it lit at first and posted here about it titled "I have really bad gas" .. consensus was a toss up between bad butane and purging, but I changed gas and purged the crap out of it and now it burns like a charm with steady flame and a single click.

I never really thought about using a Bic, but you’re right those are a ton of pros.
Thanks Cheapprick, I’ll check that thread out. I’m guessing it says what type of butane you switched to.

I’ve used a Jetline New York triple for 4-5 years with no issues at all. Its been dropped a few times too.

Also used Xikars that carped out after just a few months so I’m never gonna buy an expen$ive one again.

There are many here that will swear by the Ronson Jetlite too.

I use a Lotus Vertigo Thunder Triple Torch for first lights and a Colibri Daytona (single flame) for anything else during smoke. Both have good wind resistance, big fuel tanks with windows, hand adjustable flame knobs and are tough as nails. Both have been dropped multiple times but the Colibri Daytona has took the most punishment since it is out the most. Looks a bit raggedy at this point lol.

If I'm on the go I have a Xikar Ultra Combo that works GREAT. It's a large single flame lighter and works well for lighting and touch ups AND the cigar cutter that is attached is super sharp. Fits nicely in a front pocket.

Note: proper purging is a must with butane lighters. When it it runs out you wanna purge all the residual propane and air out before you fill. I made this post a while back about filling. This technique works on both empty fills and non-empty fills.

I still use my Ronson Jetlites and they are my choice for travel,if one gets pinched by TSA I'm out less than $4.I've left more than a handful at various Vegas bars.I like the Zippo inserts, both single and dual flame, better but not by much.

Luckily while on a fishing trip this weekend I found a Jetlite in my pickup console.........wifey got cold when the sun went down so a fire was in order.Much easier to use the Jetlite than build a bow drill along the shoreline then spend an hour rubbing sticks together.

I legit tried to build a fire with sticks. I couldn’t get it to go. Made a fair effort at it. Doubt I’ll try again

I have a Bugatti CEO triple flame, it's a little over 4 years old and still works like a new one. It has been used and abused, still the best lighter I've had, bar none.

Xikar Trezo.

I have had it for 10 years and just sent it in for repair. Xikar sent me a brand new one.

I'm with Palama - Jetline lighters are great and inexpensive. I have three currently and they all perform well. Did have none a few years back that just would not hold its butane. You could fill it but it would be empty within a few days.

I did have an old Prometheus single torch that I liked but it eventually developed a leak as well.

With Ron and Conan. I like cheap single jet lighters. I get multi packs on Amazon.

Have a butane blowtorch in the garage I use often as well.

I've bought some fancy lighters but they've all broken didn't get more than a couple refills from any of them. One triple torch lasted a year.

Majority of the time i use these: https://amzn.to/2MF2Axr

Yes it does...but I found it a little cumbersome in the golf cart.

I got a 5 pack of triple torch lighters from Amazon a couple years ago, they're basically unbranded jetlines. Lost 1, gave 2 away, the other 2 are still kicking. They stuttered at first, but purged then and refilled with colibri butane and haven't had any major issues. The spring loaded lid on one doesn't stay close, but that's literally the only issue. Other than those, I keep bics on hand just to piss off the uptight snobs at the local shop.

You guys are the best. Thanks for the advice on various lighters, and the best list of alternative lighting methods. I am applying for the launch codes for jew lasers. It's a process. Bureaucracy man.

Xikar Verano flat flame, got it a few months ago but not sure I like it. Flame is like a double torch basically. just flat but it is pretty inconsistent and blows out rather easily. Too expensive to just ditch but I'll probably be in the market for a nice new lighter soon.
