Wonder if any of you know what causes a wrapper to explode when a cigar comes out of the the humidor to be smoked.i just had this happen again, this time on a cao pilon that has been about 6 months in the humidor at 67%. Started smoking it and within and inch the wrapper burst in several places. i've had this happen from time to time. Seems to happen to Connecticut wrappers more frequently.
Makes it harder to smoke to say the least

1. Large humidity differences between storage and smoking environment
2. The cigar itself was over-humidified
3. You smoked too quickly, cranking up the heat
4. The cigar was packed too tight with a thin wrapper

Wonder if any of you know why my “cigar” prematurely explodes every time MACS takes his panties off. Thanks

My wrappers tend to crack some times too...
I had a whole bunch of La Perla Habana Black Pearl Belicosos that I bought from here a year ago that looked great in the
cellophane, but as soon as I took them out and air hit them, the maduro wrapper disintegrated.
I was pissed, I really like those cigars.

Cheap prick. I have those too mine are also having wrapper issues. Maybe the wrapper is thin on these. I like them quite a bit too. I took the cello off a couple and put them in the desktop I typically grab a smoke from. One is cracked in there

Yea.. I don't know what the deal was with those, almost half of them cracked apart and were unsmokeable. it seemed the longer I had them, the worse it got.
What about the white pearls? I haven't tried any yet, do they tend to have the same problem?

I was wrong about what I had. I have the morado w the purple label. This one is bad. I’m burning one it’s cracked up but it is smoking fine. Just looks terrible.

I realize the pandemic has most of us off our "A" game, but 6 days and 17 posts and not one mention of Gurkha.

Shame on you Shame on you

I never had a Gurkha explode and if you have been reading posts here, you know I smoked a lot of them. One thing MACS didn't mention is that the cigars may have been mishandled. The only true explosion I ever experienced was when I drawpoked a cigar and it exploded in the poker - clearly wrapped too tight and rendered unsmokeable.

You shouldn't be stuffing it in your butthole when you already have something stuffed in there...
