I'm sure some of you guys have seen this before, but I thought I would share for anyone who hasn't.
Gave me a few laughs as I was reading through it. I can definitely relate to some of these, although maybe not in the exact order.

Good article J. Lol

I think my "eye-opener" cigar was the Oliva Serie V.

Still smoke them too.

I think my eye opener was a house bundle brand Holt's used to have called Ramundo or Ramondo, something like that. It was a creamy Connecticut-wrapped Dominican. Not inexpensive for a bundle cigar, but I wish they still had those.

My eye-opener was probably an Oliva O maduro, one of the first non infused cigars I tried. Was an instant fan of maduros after that 1 cigar. Still no place for Connecticut wrappers in my storage but the Illusione HL candela is pretty darn tasty.

My eye opener was the Drew Estate MEDUSA !
As a tribute, I got Mike Uhren, (muhren on CBid), to do this original picture for me.

Still remember my first Padron & thinking AHH,HA!
Then CI bought out Thompson's & ruined my budget by ending affordable access to Padron & LP no.9s
(Which is when I found this place)
Then EZ came along & wrecked everything.
Good article. Didn't mention date labeling of incoming shipments, spreadsheets, offending libs in cigar forums or the invest in a partnership at the local phase though?
And way too little mention of the construction of a proper herfshed for those of us exposed to winter climates.
I therefore give the article a rating of 88

Partagas Black knocked me out of my mild and infused experimentation. La Aurora Untamed locked me into an ongoing love affair with maduros

Oliva melanio was what really got me started. Now I like almost all oliva cigars. Then I started buying boxes.

October 2011. Went to Casa Fuente for the first time with a bunch of hs buddies. Walked into their humidor and was instantly information overloaded. Never saw so many cigars in one place. Smoked an AF Hemingway Signature Natural that night and bought a couple other smokes to take back home. The difference between them and the gas station Swisher Sweets was like day and night. Later, was gifted a couple of Cubans and was “ruined” forever.

AF Cheateau Fuente was my eye opener cigar. Came pretty early for me since my brother gave it to me - he was pushed in the right direction by a FOG at the local cigar shop.

Read that as "his buddies" at first. Thought you were running with Carlos's crew

My Father -in-law was my intro at age 30, he was a lifelong smoker who went from don diego to partagas #1 (when he was making more dough) and the occasional cuban when we ventured to Mexico or abroad.
I started with Macanudo Prince of Wales and H.Upman Rothschild. After a few cubans I went to Bolivar cofradia as a staple and kept trying more things till Diamond Crown first regular then maduro won me over and it was hard to smoke anything else till then came out with the Maxima.
Last few years I've tried so many I had to keep records of what I liked and didn't. It's not a hobby, its a lifestyle. I'm going to take 4 days during Easter break and smoke/drink, I miss them both!

I had been messing around with different cigars from my local brick and mortar and my wife signed me up for a subscription box first box came and had a sampler in it I smoked the H. Upmann legacy and that’s what really hooked me. Then I met a guy at my local lounge first time in there turned me on to a whole new world changed my life showed me cb gave me my 1st flathead 660 and drink of really good bourbon which started a whole new love haha he invited me to a local cigar club and slowly I’m starting to learn and meet cool people

No, I get the subscription part, but the wifely role is to gripe incessantly about the smell. Spousal support of this aromatic pastime I just can't wrap my head around

Ditto, the whole family knows it's the best thing to gift me but refuse to "support or condone suchlike behavior".

The only cigar related gift I've ever received from wife or kids is the subscription to Aficionado and this months cover had a scantily clad bimbo so I got the look from the cartel boss.
Don't think I'll get anymore magazine subscriptions now either.

Don't want to condone your bad habit was the exact phrase used when I gave her a Xmas list one year. Though in a fit of insanity, or boundless generosity, she did buy me one from the B&M last birthday

My wife was worn down slowly over the past 15 years (don't even know how really). Now she buys me bottles of scotch that I'd never dream of buying myself and she bought me a really nice pipe for my last birthday. Hoping she she somehow learns where to buy CC next...

My son really enjoys helping me open the ups boxes and putting the cigars in the humidor. Recently he has been helping me with labeling. Wife thinks it’s hilarious.

Oh she still complains her fair share it’s usually about how much was spent or me coming home drunk and waking her up 😆

When really young (6or8) tried my uncle's Philly cijars, tasted like cardboard. In my twenties, Amish sweets, they were good. 30s finally smoke sum imports, haven't turned back since.

Best complement: take that sh*t out side, after about half hour and everybody is outside with me, the boss comes out and said "your the only one I ever let smoke in side" , I said"drinks are on me". He still's throws everybody else out, even when they bitch about me, but I got to bring my own ashtray.
