I won a couple bids. I haven't received an invoice yet as I have my setting on weekly shipping. My question is, do they tax each cigar. Say you win a 20 pack, is each of the 20 taxed? Sorry for the newbie question. Thank you if you reply.

Tax will technically be figured on your total order for whichever day you have set to process your wins. If you feel better thinking it's a smaller amount in tax per cigar, then it is. If you prefer it as a single larger tax amount per order, then it is. You know, 'cause it's a percentage and all. It's OK. Numbahs is hard

What state do you live in?

If PA ,then a 6 % state sales tax to the total order amt.

If Washington state or California , it could be a lot?

North Carolina? Florida?
If you buy from cigar companies down there it used to be zero taxes...but within the last 3-5 yrs stuff coming into those states from PA may get taxed your local sales tax rate? I don't know...

I live in PA, I've been at 6%since 2005...
While others have paid zero from 2005 to 2017, but then the states pulled strings and made internet companies collect taxes for them...

Our mascot is a poisonous nut, not to be underestimated, and is somewhat outrage resistant.

PETA's gonna come for you, Badger Boy

Back on topic. Is the OP asking about State cigar tax or state sales tax - and should he be more worried about shipping cost.

Ohio has an Excise tax. Figure about 40 cents per cigar. So on my orders of about 10 single bid wins I see $3 in sales tax and $4 in Excise tax

Plus $ 2.50 or more for shipping - makes a one dollar per single bid go to about $ 2.
