Voted Celtic is wrong on general principle. But the Frank Wilson version is a classic.

But that version sounds so happy she is dead. At least pearl jam sounds sad.

I'm actually not a total Vedder hater. They just didn't keep my interest after the debut

On this one, Cheno is wrong... but I still voted Celtic is wrong.

C'mon, man.

Besides, ya have to take into account that songs sounded a certain way at the time was how it was done or they didn't make the radio. Singing depressing chit all melodic like was how they did it. Try Teen Angel or Tell Laura I Love Her (IMO the Teen Angel girl is not the sharpest tool in the shed)

Being an old fart, I knew of the Frank Wilson version a l-o-n-g time ago. Maybe not when it first came out in the 60s but much later on an oldies CD. Despite it’s sad theme, I always liked the song. Anyway, fast forward to the early 2000s when I first heard of the Pearl Jam remake - I loved it! I’m not a big PJ fan but do enjoy Eddie’s voice. The timbre and emotion in his voice on "Last Kiss" make it sound real…and you know the song is based upon a true story, right?

Yes, unfortunately a very sad true story. Crying

Man, look at you! Pulling up some oldies but moldies that no one your age should know, let alone reference in a thread about sad songs from the ‘60s.

More depressing Eddie:

Wow! This election is split right down the middle 50/50. It's gonna be close.

Tryin to tell me that Disturbed's Sound of Silence is better than the Simon and Garfunkel's.

Greg and his wife calling ME?! crazy? They're crazy. Especially her. She didn't have to use that kind of language... and the things she called me. It hurt...

I voted Celtic is wrong! because I really don't care about the poll, but you're wrong about everything anyway.

I’d rather listen to Disturb’s version. Though I wouldn’t say it’s better, just a different song IMHO. Always thought Paul Simon sounded like a whiney pu$$y.

I’m just sitting here in a lack of shock that stePHan wants his last kiss to be from a dude named Frank. So predictable.

Pappy raised me on a wide variety of tunes in my formative years.
