Texas Republicans Call For TEXIT Vote With Almost 90% In Favor

July 6, 2022
TNM News

Quote:
The Republican Party of Texas has finally released its 2022 platform and the vote totals for each plank. Nearly 90% support a vote on TEXIT.

A previous version of this story reported the percentage as 90.08% for Plank 225 based on information provided by the Republican Party of Texas. Due to errors in their reporting of the final platform and the vote counts, we have adjusted this article accordingly. Here are links to download the platform and the vote totals provided by the RPT.

After a two-and-a-half-week delay, the RPT has released its platform, and the delegate vote totals for each plank. The Texas Nationalist Movement has been eagerly awaiting the results of the vote for two planks that expressly call for a vote on TEXIT.

The call for a TEXIT vote came in Planks 33 and 225. The strongest of the two numbered initially as Plank 224, was renumbered as Plank 225 due to a last-minute addition of a plank earlier in the platform at the convention.

Plank 33 reads:

“33. State Sovereignty: Pursuant to Article 1, Section 1, of the Texas Constitution, the federal government has impaired our right of local self-government. Therefore, federally mandated legislation that infringes upon the 10th Amendment rights of Texas should be ignored, opposed, refused, and nullified. Texas retains the right to secede from the United States, and the Texas Legislature should be called upon to pass a referendum consistent thereto.”

Plank 225 reads:

“225. Texas Independence: We urge the Texas Legislature to pass a bill in its next session requiring a referendum in the 2023 general election for the people of Texas to determine whether or not the State of Texas should reassert its status as an independent nation.”

Plank 33 and 225 passed with 88.64% and 80.17% support from the delegates. Therefore, a vote on TEXIT is now the official position of the Republican Party of Texas.

The TEXIT planks outperformed other core and hot-button Republican issues such as the Convention of the States (78.9%), Border Security and Immigration (85.64%), and Prosecution of Election Fraud (83.95%).

Support at the convention was evident even before the vote was taken. When interviewed at the convention, Joshua Stambaugh, a delegate from Senate District 22 and the TNM’s Local Coordinator in Waco, experienced the overwhelming support first-hand. “I can tell you, here at the convention, everyone I’ve talked to, and I’ve talked to at least 100 people, only one didn’t support our movement.”

The TNM has said for years that Texas is at a tipping point and that Texans want to express their right to self-government in a TEXIT vote. 90% of the largest political convention in the world, representing the dominant political party of Texas, have spoken.

While the opposition and political establishment continue to push the narrative that TEXIT is a fringe idea pushed by a vocal minority of Texans, they have again been exposed as abject liars or woefully out-of-touch with Texas voters.

State Representative Kyle Biedermann, the author of House Bill 1359, the Texas Independence Referendum Act in the 87th legislative session, expressed his lack of surprise at the result.

“Republican voters have overwhelmingly made their voices heard and want a vote on Texas independence. I knew this when I filed the bill. Unfortunately, most of my colleagues tried to deny it. There’s no denying it now.”

If Texas wants to buy-out all its U.S. infrastructure, they are, IMO, welcome to leave. They can even pay it off on a promissory note, interest free. It is a slightly net donor to the U.S. on a per person basis- and should be able to manage its own economy, infrastructure, regulations and laws They can even have their own currency based on the gold standard, if they want. Let's see how well that would work for Texas. Tough talk like this is "cheap."

AUTHORITARIAN NATIONALIST DICKTATOR TALK!
Your daddy, the U.S. Leviathan in lieu of the costs it has imposed on Texans for failure to stay within its constitutional confines and not performing its limited constitutional duties, therefore, being the abuser in the relationship hereby forfeits all supposed claims to ownership of infrastructure as part of the divorce.

Texas pays in slightly more fedetal tax than they receive benifits from. If they want to leave that is fine. I hope they have considered all of the ramifications of being their own country would be. This is not something you can get a Mulligan on.
I think the states that want out should leave. The constitution is very ambiguous on succession. If they do not want to be Americans under the present construct of America so be it.

Robert, you missed one point I think. They need to take their portion of the national debt with them. This would be a win for all.

But Abe Lincoln fans will want to send in their armies to plunder and slaughter men, women and children to SAVE THE UNION! They'll tell the feckless Union proles that the war won't cost a cent because Texas will pay with its OIL!

they want to leave...let them go...don't know anyone who'd raise arms to keep them in the Union...they talk kinda funny anyway...

we can then be rid of the Cowboys, Texans, Cheatin Astros, Rangers, Rockets, Mavs, Spurs...if they want to stay in the leagues, make them pay an international fee to re-enter...

The international fee is a genius idea but I don't think the major sponsors will allow that. The rich are who run everything and that would eat their profits.

in the context of the Civil War, that may've been true...now...not so much, especially if it's Texas...

pretty sure the US can survive it's loss now, whereas the Southern states were a key part of the economy 150 years ago...

it'll be like recovering from a cyst removal compared to loss of both kidneys

NO!...NO!...NO! You Lincoln Lefties aren't gonna pull that chit with me. Your doctrine says once a state is allowed in the Union, you're in for eternity. No one can escape, any attempts at SECESSION are really just REBELLION that must be quashed with blood and fire.

You think maybe we can learn something from pro sports?

Maybe Mexico will give us Cancun for it...

Let them earn their independence from Mexico, cause you know as soon as they secede, Pablo Escobar coming for that loot... might as well try to get a little something something for it.

Does Texas have tanks?

I heard North Mexico was annexed by the cartels for Fentanyl and Meth smuggling, and human trafficking across the border, and the Biden Crime Family are their partners.

Me angry? No, I'm just exposing the hypocrisy of the Lincoln Lefties. First they say succession is illegal, downright un-American, and punishable by death because it would mean a loss of power and revenue for the central Leftist regime, and then they reverse course and say that a state that is reclaiming their sovereignty and is nullifying unconstitutional Federal dicktates is like a cyst that needs to be removed before it spreads, especially if they don't like their sports teams.

RayR is def not familiar with the concepts of evolving and adjusting to a changing world...he seems to be comfortable with rigidity and static inflexibility and fantasizes the world to be such a place...

he doesn't realize that he's got an audience only because progress resulted in the development of the computer and the internet...otherwise he'd be printing up pamphlets, trying to hand them off to passersby and ranting on a street corner how the transition to horseless carriages will doom his people...

Texas as its own country would be great. It would be easy to invade and conquer the pansies in California, Oregon and Washington State so Texas would have a place to dump all its human and physical waste. The pansies in those states would destroy each other over time and soon there would be free land for all of the hard-working illegal aliens needing a home.

Teu·ton·ic (to͞o-tŏn′ĭk, tyo͞o-)

adj.
1. Of or relating to the ancient Teutons.
2. Of or relating to the Germanic languages or their speakers.

Teutonic - of or pertaining to the ancient Teutons or their languages; "Teutonic peoples such as Germans and Scandinavians and British"; "Germanic mythology"

The key word is "ancient". Even Frank as smart as he is would never comprehend those ancient dialects of the Germanic peoples.

Did you ever hear Old English?

Once in a while you have to look around and accept that you might not be the smartest guy in the room.

which brings us to the next lesson:

I am aware that I am not especially wise nor knowledgeable on that subject, and I am not abashed by admitting it in public. I question if you could drop the hubris long enough to do the same.

But it was clear to me you knew even less, maybe nothing at all, and were desperately trying to gain cred at my expense.

That won't ever happen. Partly because you don't understand so many things but believe you can just bull people, steamroll people. Even if there was something to win here, you aren't attaining it.
There isn't though.
