It’s April, and I don’t think anyone has mentioned the Top 25 list on the forum, at least not that I recall. Maybe because it’s especially ridiculous this year?

Among other gems, the AB Black Market ranked #6, ahead of a PAM 64 and Cohiba 55 Edición Limitada that only managed to hit #17. I haven’t smoked the Cohiba, but Black Market is a modestly decent yardgar at best IMO. Not in the top 250 cigars of 2022, much less top 25.

Brick House churchill is #18.

Rocky Patel’s Sixty Sixty placed #2. Has anyone smoked it?

You couldn’t pay me to smoke a RP cigar that isn’t a 09’ Winter Blend.

Puck Focky Patel and his chitty “Burn” lounge…..I wouldn’t cross the street to piss on “Burn” if it was on fire.

That I have terrible taste in cigars for not realizing that an AB Black Market is better than a PAM 64.

EDIT:

It's a PAN 64!! My fault. That obviously explains the ranking.

Saw the list when it came out. Didn't feel it warranted the effort it would take my thumbs to type a thought on it. And I've been known to post some pretty meaningless chit too

Rojas carnitas belongs on there.

Are we talking about cigars bought from cbid or cigars we cbid forum users liked from anywhere? If from cbid I say Cohiba Red Dot or Macassar, if from anywhere I'm going with the Montesino Maduro.

First off I had a bottle of wine in me when I wrote this last night so more stream of consciousness than thought out response.

So tell me Conan what are your favorite cigars that you have smoked that you bought from cbid in the past year? People can dog general cigars all they want but red dot is a nice cameroon and the macassar has a nice broadleaf wrapper both tasty and well-made and only a few bucks a piece from cbid auctions. Both good cigars. I think if you tried them you might like them.

As for off cbid, Montesino Maduro is an excellent cigar and a regular smoke for me now. AF Anejo is also great but hard to get and pricey. I tried La Aurora Preferidos Diamond then bought a box and now I love them too. So hard to rate.

Anyway I love you Conan but how about rather $hitting on my suggestions come up with a few of your own.

Mea culpa!

I meant to add the “Sarcasm Alert” emoji but pressed “Post” instead. Oopsie! d'oh!

I haven’t bought anything from CBid since 2020. Unfortunately there’s almost nothing that I want or with starting prices at MSRP / MAP so no savings whatsoever. When I first started smoking premiums, I had the Red Dot Cohibas but thought it was just an okay cigar. Then again, my first premium was an AF Signature Natural so the bar was pretty high. Likewise with CBL. For me, Fuente, Tatuaje and Crowned Heads were the best brands for that wrapper and I settled on blends from them many moons ago so never had an itch to try the Macassar.

Cigars, like many other things in life are subjective and everyone’s palate is different so, as they say, “Smoke what you like, like what you smoke.”
