Pledge? Allegiance?

Next is going to be a Flag.

No, I haven't tried.

Haven’t visited any Ernesto cigars in a long while.
Are there any decent ones these days?

Take one for the team Stogie. He has made some good ones but none that compare to the original Short Run.

I love the Pledge. I will have to seek out an Allegiance next time I am at the Shpo. From descriptions online they are medium strength, so they may not be my cup of joe...

I enjoy the Pledge, first EPC I've smoked in years that I've bought more of. Not sure if that is exactly a ringing endorsement of the brand as a whole though.

Smoked The Alligiance Box-Pressed Toro yesterday. Good, crisp flavor offering. But for the price it's not a better option than Oiliva Serie V Melanio, which still rates as the best Sumatra wrapped cigar I have yet to burn.

@24132413 have you tried the cojonu 2012 Sumatra? It’s a tat maybe my favorite Sumatra. Very good cigar.

I’m smoking a melanio as I’m typing and I do like those also.

Stogie I haven’t tried just adding to small talk

OK, smoking one now. I broke my "let it rest for at least a month" rule for this one.

Is a very nice cigar. Band removal is good. It costs a few shekels more than the pledge, which I think I like better and buy boxes of.

There is a subtle sweetness to the Allegiance, likely from the Sumatra wrapper, but if it's this nice with a few weeks of rest, I am guessing it will be a tasty smoke in a few months.

I just don't know if it's worth the price when the pledge is so good.

No, I haven't tried.

For its newest limited edition, E.P. Carrillo is leaning on a patriotic theme that gets its names from two of the company’s existing lines.

The cigar is called the E.P. Carrillo Pledge of Allegiance 2023 and it is a 6 x 54 toro that uses a Connecticut broadleaf wrapper, an Ecuadorian-grown Connecticut seed binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua and the United States. This is the first time that the company is using two American-grown tobaccos as part of the filler in a blend.

Yes Melanio is still one of favorites but the price has gone up on that as well. They're both good I've just had waaaay more melanio than allegiance so the change was nice
