What 3 songs from this decade are your favorites? Songs that make you stop what you’re doing so you can sing along? Or songs that bring you back to a memorable moment in your life? Songs that just make you feel good?

Here are my 3 favorites:

Blue Sky - Allman Brothers Band
Alison - Elvis Costello
Let’s Stay Together - Al Green

Once again, I know there are forum members that were either w-a-y too young to remember the '70s or weren't even alive during the decade.

Lynyrd Skynyrd Sweet Home Alabama. Heard on a jukebox at the tiny store at the resort my Aunt owned a cabin at.
Styx Renegade. Heard in the little snack bar next to our barracks at Camp Humphreys Korea.
Foghat Slowride. Sitting in the barracks room at Ft. Lewis.

One other memorable mention. I bought Carolina Dreams by Marshall Tucker on the rec from a friend. Listened to 1/2 of it, took it off the turntable and flew it out the third story window. not much of a country fan I guess...

Hahahaha!

Idris (…forgot his pre-Muslim name…) was a well-known drummer that played with some of the greats so when I first heard this in 1975, I was listening more to the beat and specifically, his drumming. Back in those days, the “new” jazz put out by CTI and Kudu was the “in” thing and more appealing to the masses, or like me, 20-year olds newly exposed to jazz. Nonetheless, thanks for listening anyway. For me, it takes me back to the beginnings of my musical broadening and the people that helped me expand my width and breath of my listening choices.

Ha! King Tut was a good one, albeit an ear worm.
