First time buyer here. I bought some Rocky Patel edge corojos and San Andres. Received them Saturday, lit up on Thursday and am not getting the flavor experience I know and love from buying these at a B&M. Burn on the corojo is pretty horrific as well. Do they need to rest longer? They are pretty much flavorless so I am worried they lost their oils and won’t get their flavor back. Did I just get a bad batch or should this pretty much be corrected after a few weeks of rest with a Boveda 65rh in my airtight tupperdor? Have a 72 rh as well but fear that will be too wet and then I’ll have cat pee on top of a dog turd…..

I definitely recommend giving them a month or two. Places often over-humidified for shipping, so need time to calm down for a while. Smoke other stuff and revisit later.

Or, get a Platinum Membership™. Platinum members get the cigars that are keep at a lower humidity, then they're shipped with Bovedas.

That wouldn’t explain why I can taste everything else just fine my friend. Including the delicious stick I bought from a local shop that I smoked in between….

Thanks Leebot… I see there is a free fall going on right now for platinum memberships. Gonna wait for it to drop to 3 bucks. Need yours renewed? I got you

As you learn more about the cigar licensing gimmick, you’ll figure out which brands to avoid like the plague. To avoid the risk of a libel suit, I won’t list them but iffin’ you’re diligent and run through the “Cigar Discussion” forum, you’ll find threads that discuss which brands to avoid, at least from the places that are into the licensing game.

Did you see Rolling Stone’s “Top 250 Guitarists” list? Iirc, Neil was ranked #20 or sumting like that. Pretty ridiculous! I love NY but he’s a one chord soloist and no way should he be that high.

20 something????
Heh………..Neil was a decent song writer back in da hippy and early post hippy days, and a decent acoustic strummer/plucker.
But………….come on man…

Me thinks even Neil would laugh out loud at that one.
Imho he doesnt even crack the top 100, and I’m being generous.

Well I hope Neil Young will remember, a Southern man don't need him around anyhow.

The rankings are horrendous as well as the glaring omissions. Off the top of my head, these guitarists didn’t make the list:

Terry Kath
Lowell George
Paul Barrere
Al DiMeola
John Platania
Albert King
Freddie King
Larry Coryell
Jesse Ed Davis
Neal Schon
David Hidalgo
J. Geils
Buzzy Feiten
Gene Cornish
Maury Muehleisen

Paul McCartney made the list! I know he can play guitar but last time I checked, his main axe is the bass.

Joni Mitchell was #9. Go figgah!

Roy Buchanan was #183. He truly is the World’s Greatest Unknown Guitarist.

I gotta stop, getting all worked up again. ram27bat

Oh fuq……
Neil Young is a MUCH better guitarist than Al DiMeola….
OK…………..sounds about right….

The people who made this up should go ahead and take over CA’s Cigar of the Year publication…..

Ok, I’ll put it this way…….
I’m 98.5% sure Al DiMeola can play ANY song ever written by Neil Young………..and learn it in less than 5 minutes…

I’m just as sure that Neil Young couldn’t ever play, the vast majority of DiMeola’s pieces, no matter how much he practiced, even in his prime.

That said, I think Neil was a fine song writer, and wrote many good tunes.

One thing fo’ sure, Rolling Stone is truly winning. I mean, once-upon-a-time RS was THE music publication to read. But over the years it became just a shell of itself and I’mma purdy sure many people completely forgot about it. Then they put out a lame-azz list and suddenly people are referencing it, talking about who’s on, who’s not, click-bait winnah!

As far as the video goes, yup, lotta names that shoulda been on the list. Rick Beato had a few thoughts about the missing guitarists too:

+1.

Never smoke them immediately. Minimum rest for me is four weeks. More people suggest longer and they are probably right.

Have you tried the RP Session? If you think RP has made subpar smokes before, smoke this one. It may be a new low.

1 month rest minimum as others have said. Sometimes that resolves flavor issues, usually resolves burn issues. Also are u sure u didn't get "fumas"? I see a lot of Edge fumas being sold online which are the same as seconds, not the original. Can be confusing when new to cigar shopping online cause wtf is a fuma?

Think
Purdy sure “fumas” are short filler cigars, not “seconds”.
Could be Rocky trying the Papas Fritas route, using Edge trimmings………..which by the way, is hilarious, as if Rocky scraps are worth saving and wrapping up……Brick wall
