Most unique cigar in the store I went to yesterday. Not the disaster I thought I was taking the risk of. Smooth. Not tanic or chlorophyll like it could have been. Smooth. Very, very, slight sweet flavor the entire time. maybe a little bread flavor at one point, but it was subtle Other than that, straight Dominican tobacco. Last candela I smoked was like 20 years ago. It was a Macanudo Churchill and I remember it as being very good to my then palate.

Hit or miss for me, but haven’t had one for years.
I always thought the Illusione 888 candelas were better.

I have the illusione candela lancero they’re quite good. Haven’t had the 888 but I will try. Maybe give the fuente a go one day but illusione has good rep as being one of if not the best candela these days. So I’ve read

Holy Lance is the only candela I’ve bought more than once.

I bought the last one in a box once that was really good, assuming well aged…it was an AF Seleccion Privada No. 1 Claro.

I concur. Over halfway through the 858 candela and it’s been quite good. Have a few more around but liked it more than I thought I would. Will smoke the rest when I find them

bought a few for St. Patrick's Day a coupla years ago. They are better than their color suggests...not that I'm biased or something...
