It's because these people got up in all hours of the night, traveling, fighting and supporting the interests of Americans around the world, which gives us the ability to sit on our dead azzes until after 8:00 central time without showing the proper respect. On Veteran's Day. whip

Thank you, Vets.

It was my pleasure to serve my country for 20 years and 21 days.

I had some incredible life experiences, met some incredible people, was able to travel the world and see various countries and cultures, and I would do it all over again in a heartbeat.

I am grateful to my fellow Americans for supporting me then... and continuing to do so now with a pension and health care.

To my fellow veterans, Thank You for your service. Herfing

Thank you to all veterans for risking your lives to better all of ours. For fighting for our freedom and against tyranny and oppression. You are all special souls.

Saw this poll on News Nation yesterday. Which made me feel marginally awkward.

70% of veterans shared they feel somewhat uncomfortable when people say Thank you for your service as they (the service member) knows the well wisher has no idea what they have gone through and continue to go through.

If I understand 1.8% of what they went through, that is enough. It does make me wonder how to best show my respect and love for them without making them uncomfortable.
