Excellent reading:

This one of a kind maze almost went extinct...it has the geneology to save other corn from climate change too...
It is the only corn that can be used to make a certain WHISKEY that is very popular. "High wire distillery" needs it because of it's nutty sweet flavor and high oil content....its viability, heartiness, grown with less water , disease resistant, needs less fertilization, it's root system is incredibly strong.

Cool!

Jimmy Red corn whiskey is distilled right here in South Carolina, in Charleston.

Red corn is rich in oils and was a favorite of bootleggers.

High Wire also make a tasty gin.
