Desantis lacks authenticity. I don’t know if he knows who he is. Best performance for him in the three debates I watched. He is also the person on the stage who could talk for ninety seconds when asked a Yes or No answer and still not answer. Even when pressed by Christie to answer the simple Yes or No, Desantis wouldn’t or couldn’t.
Christie, who I generally don’t care for ever since his Bridgetgate issue a few years ago looks like the icon for bloated government. Last night, he was the adult on the stage. He answered Yes and No questions more often and more straightforwardly than anybody else. He laid out a future that mostly mirrors what I have been warning against.
Haley. Her least effective debate. Guessing her strategy was to do the Rope-A-Dope. Take the blows, fire back if necessary, hold her temper, and survive the event. Her success is why Desantis and Ramaswamy were attacking like they were.
Ramaswamy. Can tell he grew up in the 90s. If he was a kid of the 60’s, 70’s or 80’s, and ran is mouth like he does, his smug little mug would have been punished violently. He probably instead got time outs when he got verbally out of line.
He’s basically a high strung whippet, on a Tilt a Whirl, during a laser show in a disco. Overstimulated.
