I'm looking to add a heating/cooling humidor for my collection as my current humidor is getting to small. I have done some research and have been interested in the Need One 33L. The price seems the best. Has anyone had any experience with these types of humidors and recommend a good one or ones to stay away from? Any help will do.

Prediction: You are going to need a bigger humidor.

Possibly, but that would give me a 300 cigar capacity total with both humidors. I was planning on using the temp controlled one for my more expensive cigars and the regular humidor for my others. I'm just not sure with what to go with.

Why do you want temp control?

A cooler works just fine to prevent rapid temperature fluctuations without introducing the wildcard of a thermal element that will create issues with humidity control.

If you need it, sure. I was tempted by them before but I have a basement that stays consistently 55-65 year round.

I have the Needone 48L heat/cool. I like it, and it keep things rock solid for me I store at 66* and 65%. I have converted to all drawers instead of shelves.
Here are a few things to consider.

1st- You not come close to the estimated storage capacity unless you convert to all drawers instead of shelves. This can be expensive as the drawers run about $40 each, It will likely cost more for the convert then the actual unit. If your handy and can find Spanish ceder locally then it's easy to make your own.

2nd- Unless you insist on keeping your collection at 70* don't bother with the heating unit, you can save some money there. That said I keep my home cold, usually around 65* year around so that was why I got the combo.

3rd- If you think you will see your collection inside the unit, you won't. the glass is too dark and the light inside is useless.

I now find it to be just another box of cigars. A box that takes up more space than my stack of tubberdors which hold way more cigars and were purchased after the needone to start storing overflow that will happen. I do not regret buying it, I still use it, and I keep it filled, but in hindsight, I would have just purchased a few more containers and spent the rest on more cigars.

Thanks for the advice, This will be in my basement which is around 55 during the winter and 60 in the summer months. I figured you won't see the collection because I have a 24 bottle wine fridge and it's the same way. Even with the light on you can only see the bottles when it's dark in the room. I was just looking for something to keep a consistent temp. I use to keep my regular humidor in the basement but it was getting to cold in the winter. I was able to find a new one that wasn't refurbished for $200. With looking around I really couldn't find anything that size for that price. Just seems like a good deal. Just don't want to pull the trigger unless it's worth it for $200

Spend the extra for the 48L, youll need all the space you can get.

I had the Needone without a heating component.. Within a few days I had a condensation problem, which is the very last thing you want. I traded it in for the Kingchii 48 L with heating and cooling. I have had no issues whatsoever with it. My house gets hot in summer and cold in winter because of our sunroom which makes the temp hard to regulate (Lots of windows). The Kingchii has been a champ
Based on my own experience, that heating/cooling component is crucial. A plain old cooler, while cheaper and bigger, is too hot or too cold.
