This applies to AT&T customers only. You can trade in any old smart phone for one of the new S24 models. The phone does not have to be in working order and the offer applies to new customers as well as current customers. I traded in a Samsung S5 Active that came out in 2014.

Only catch is that you extend your current contract for three years. And for a new customer I'm guessing you would sign a contract for three years. You have to pay tax on the phone and in my case purchase a new type charging cube. Long story short, I got a new S24 for $48 and my youngest cub picked up a S24+ for just tax.

The offer has been running for sometime and I'm not sure how long it will be available.

It is not a bad deal. Only down side is even with 100% data transfer, one may have to re-sync a device or two and or re-login to a few apps. Other than this, it is painless.

If that S24 is as big of a POS as the S22 you'll regret the decision to upgrade in 3, 2, 1...........

Hands down the worst phone I've ever had the pleasure of owning.

My Verizon Samsung S23 works great and it was a free upgrade too.
Well.. the second one anyway, my original had a battery meltdown within the first year, but that was replaced under warranty/

The S24 does not appear any larger than the S8 Active that I was using. However, the S24+ and S24 Ultra were larger.

From my standpoint the Samsung products are more reliable and last longer. This is my third smartphone since 2015, all Samsung's, and my wife is on her 4th or 5th I phone during that same period. The S8 Active I replaced was still working but this was a great deal. The S8 is now in the drawer.

They may be able to transfer the music to the new phone unless it is on itunes.

If you have Android Auto the new S24 will probably pair its self. On my truck it paired to the Ford link or whatever it is called and the Android Auto on it's own.

No need to wait. Just keep telling them what you want, only takes about 10min. Eventually they will break, though sometimes it's at 6 month intervals.

On and sometimes you have to request a representative from the US.

I went to the store to do the thing. Guess my old unlimited plan doesn't count. It's unlimited, but throttled after 30gb data use. The new unlimited plan is throttled whenever network is busy. Don't see how that's an upgrade for me.

To get the phone I'd have to upgrade to the new unlimited plan and do autopay. Did learn I'm missing out on a 25% nurse discount, so gotta go back with wife tomorrow to change the account over to my name to get the discount. Can't do autopay though cause her mom and brother are on her account and they make their own payments to att. Suppose they could just repay me but we've had this arrangement for like 10 years. They view the bill and pay 25% each.

I don't like to lock into a cell phone contract. I have a Verizon prepay account that covers unlimited calls and text, data up to 15 GB but I don't use the phone for web surfing or streaming so 15 GB is more than I'll likely use per month. Data usage doesn't apply if you are connecting to the net using WiFi, only counts when using cell towers. I also think it rolls over unused data every month too.

The phone I have is a 2001 or 2003 Motorola G Play. I don't need anything fancy. I think I paid like $120 for it new. The plan costs me $35/month plus taxes and stuff so maybe around $38/month total. This includes a $5 discount for auto pay and $5 discount for valued customer (I've used Verizon for my cell service for many years). I can even use the phone as a hot spot if I want to connect a computer or other devices to the phone and if the phone is connected to the towers but that eats into the data usage part.

I'm not locked into any contract and I can quit anytime I want with one small detail. When you connect a new phone or different phone to the account, it's locked to Verizon service but after 3 months you can call them get it unlocked it and you can switch it over to any other service of your choice but you'll need a new SIM card for that different company's service. I've stuck Verizon over the years due to the inexpensive plan and I get good coverage just about anywhere I go.

The big three in the nation are Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile. These 3 players cover nearly 100% of the US cell phone networks and maintain the towers. The smaller services like Mint, Consumer Cellular and stuff use same towers - they buy access to the towers from the big three. For example Mint Mobile uses T-Mobile network, Consumer Cellular uses both T-Mobile and AT&T, Straight Talk and TracPhone use Verizon.

Well wife just showed me the overall price n stuff. Even if I switched it to my name for the nurse discount it will still be more. We're paying about $160/mo for 4 lines, and that's with a $25 per month per line discount for being a Chase bank employee (no clue how we got that discount I know exactly zero people who work at chase) The unlimited plan would be about $180/mo for 4 lines with the nurse discount.

Did notice I'm still paying $6/mo for insurance on my phone. Not sure if I should keep that. But then again phones are now $1k plus and I've used the insurance many times before.
