Looks like I got the forum correct this time.


So in a previous misplaced thread I asked for help finding 100% authentic Corojo cigars.

I did a little digging and now I'm wondering, if CLE and Aladino are the same or sister companies?

It looks like these cigars are pretty much rolled from the same tobacco, grown on the same farm and rolled in the same factory as Aladino branded cigars.

JRE has Aladino, Tatascan, Rancho Luna. Julio and Justo Eiroa

CLE is CLE, Eiroa, Asylum. Christian Eiroa

Sister companies same family

You'll be pleasantly surprised. I bought singles or fivers across most of their lines and none have disappointed. All have been more "old style" cigars.

I used to buy the Camacho’s by the box. I’m glad there seems to be a replacement. There is a lot of corojo out there but it’s mostly hybrids that just don’t have the same flavor.

I’m wondering if the tobacco is coming from the same farm as when Christian had Camacho. It’s the same valley in Honduras.

There's a back story on that I've read somewhere (maybe a different thread here) or maybe I saw an interview. Seems their sticking with a corojo that others choose not to grow due to it's growing challenges. I don't recall if it was yield or disease or time in the field, just that newer seeds were more "efficient" but not the same. Maybe you know this already, but I thought I'd mention it.

Yep I was aware of this. IIRC there was an article in CA 10-15 years ago.

Yup. That’s why (…listen up nOObs…) it’s good to be informed and know more about a cigar than just the tobaccos in the blend. Knowing, if you can, WHERE they’re from is just as important.

I’m definitely listening and I find these break out conversations very interesting. I’m currently wracking my brain on cigar makers and what brands they’re working with, i.e. E.P. Carillo, D. Pepin Garcia, Espinosa. I am having difficulty remembering, but the more discussion i can read about this topic the better i can wrap my brain around it. Thanks for the many tips you offer to me. (I take action on you’re tips FYI)
